TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! IT'S E-TAX CRUNCH TIME AND THEY'RE HIDING POLLING NUMBERS!!!

The biggest issue in Kansas City's election cycle still lies ahead . . .

We're about to see if . . .

Kansas City will slit its own throat for the sake of a billionaire and JoCo Interlopers?

Are voters too tired to care?

More importantly . . .

IF KANSAS CITY E-TAX PROPONENTS ARE SO CONFIDENT ABOUT THEIR CAUSE THEN WHY HAVEN'T WE SEEN ANY POLLING DATA ON WIDESPREAD SUPPORT ON THIS VOTE?!?!

Let's not pretend that the polling data doesn't exist . . . So many of us have already answered silly questions over the phone. Still, it stands to reason that if Kansas City really did "universally" support the E-Tax then that polling endorsement would be put on blast . . . So far we haven't seen much.

Developing . . .

  1. what makes you think it is the "proponents" paying for Jeff Roe's polling?

  2. yeah, ask Roe what the numbers say.

  3. The reason to vote for repeal is that city hall is bloated. The elderly and poor need not suffer.

First cut is for the firefighters. There are too many of them, being paid too much, to do not much of anything. The number of fires are way down from the past, yet headcount goes up. They do not need to show up for car wrecks or medical calls.

There is no other way for citizens to tame the Local 42 beast.

  4. Wow, 7:24! You are clearly just trying to stir it up. You can't possibly believe the crap you just spewed out here! If for some reason you do, you are truly an ignorant coward!

Do you even know what firefighters do at car wrecks or medical calls? Hell if you want, why not just make the police run fires too and then you can fire the ENTIRE fire department! Oh wait, we already tried that and that was a complete disaster!

Hope your house never burns down! Hope your grandma never needs medical assistance! Hope you never get in a car wreck!

But you see, even then, firefighters would STILL help you even though you don't deserve it!

Let me explain something to you, yes firefighters do work when its time to work BUT most of the time they do nothing. And yes we need firefighters but if the rest of the city is hurting and taking a pay cut why can't cops and firefighters take cuts as well. And 7:24 is right it is time to tame the Local 142 beast.

  6. It's Local 42 shit for brains. Not local 142.

  7. Tony only 20% of Kansas City voted yesterday, the only people who want to see the polls (or fucking care) are the snotty ass consultants. Give up trying to stir up drama......

  11. Are you serious??? Firefighters are not needed at accidents or medical calls???? Who do you think cuts people out of vehicles when they need to be? Please do me a favor and go tell a firefighter that they do nothing, as a matter of fact, please go tell a police officer the same thing! They protect and serve, and they still do not make enough, they risk their lives for the community! Next time you see a burning building, please go ahead risk your life because obviously you can do it yourself.

  12. There has been a KCPD hiring freeze for some time now. You act like our police and fire departments are "making it rain" all over town. We're not talking about "bloat" when we talk about this tax. It won't be carb counting if we lose the single largest source of our revenue. It will starve our city services. The Northland will almost definately lose one of it's two police stations, and we will lose at least 300 policemen in the inner city. As far a fire protection goes, I vote that we have "spirderman" move here...

  13. Where are the proponents getting their money??

  14. If this were Paris, the E-tax would be French toast!

  15. If this were Houston, the E-tax would be Texas toast!

  16. Ha. You're wondering where the proponents are getting money? That hasn't really been the issue on this one. We know exactly where the supporters get their dough, you can look it up on the MO Ethics Commission if you want the list of individuals/companies/organizations. If you want the same info on the opponents to the tax, you'll have to settle for..."who the fuck knows?" They refuse to disclose donors.

  18. 8:51, just so you know: Firefighters did take a pay cut. For the last 2 years. And gave up benefits.

  19. The poll call I got was horribly run, asked the same question twice in a row and was noisy in the background. Was probably Glorioso's untrained temp staff doing a hack job.
