TKC CONFIRMED!!! KCPD RAISE A RUCKUS AND WON'T BE FORCED TO CITY'S INSURANCE PLAN!!!

Remember that last week on Friday we were talking about this:

TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE FIGHT TO KEEP HEALTH BENEFITS AND STAY OUT OF CITY PLAN!!!

Today it happened:

The Star: Hundreds of Kansas City police officers packed a room at police headquarters today for a discussion about whether to merge their health insurance with the city's plan.

KSHB: Members of the Kansas City Police Department flooded a Police Board meeting Thursday morning in fear of losing health insurance benefits.

Personally, I have to side with the KCPD on this issue for one simple reason:

KANSAS CITY ALWAYS PROMISES SAVINGS BUT THEN MANAGES TO MAKE A MESS OF ALMOST EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH!!!

Again, I can't blame the KCPD for wanting to stay out of the clutches of City Hall. There's now a call for a third plan and a bit of compromise for the City.

Developing . . .

  1. Easy fix. Hack the few million the department is refusing to save from the PD budget. If they want a cadillac health plan, they can pay for it. The rest of the city employees, which PD is a part of, seem to do just fine with the current insurance. I guess if PD doesn't want to save money by choice, the city can save it for them. Maybe cutting wages.

  2. 522 your a stupid fuck. There was no savings. The citys insurance is a joke. So if you don't know what your saying shut up. Your probably one of those people with no insurance living off all of us people who do. D BAG

  3. 5:22 your wrong the Pd isn't part of the city. Not city employees. City insurance is a joke because of all the fat lazy people. I don't blame them for not joining anything involving this joke city. Who would want to go to a health clinic at 24 and troost and not their doctor????????

  5. There's nothing like a gang of KCPD officers packing the police board room to try to roll the police board into making sure they don't have to pay more for their insurance premiums like the rest of us to seal the doom of the e-tax election.
Tell us all again how that money is spent on SERVICES for the people who actually LIVE in KCMO! The PD just showed that it's just another one of the endless special interests that suck up all the money between city hall and the residents.
They wish there was something left to spend on services, but sorry.

  9. Give us our pay raises. And for all of you who talk shit about the patrol officers who put their lives on the line everyday and work their asses off without getting pay raises and dealing with the bullshit the commanders and so called leaders pull. You need to leave your desk job or stay home job and go to any inner city station and do ridealongs and see what we deal with om a daily basis. I know you wont and you will just hide behind your computer and bash this post but just know you to will call 911 someday and a hard working underpaid district officer will come to your rescue. Again put on your big boy and big girl boots and come do a ridealong in the inner city.

  11. how about you cops getting off your BUTTS so kansas city is not the 9th most dangerous city. how about some results.

  12. You know? I might just vote against the e tax. These fucking cops harass people and walk with a horrible entitlement attitude. Fuck them. Time to starve the beast.

  13. The Police HR department receives a great number of special favors -- beyond cans of popcorn at Christmas time -- from insurance companies. They do not want to give that up in order to form a larger group, which would result in lower rates for all.

    ReplyDelete
  14. the HR department is run by a "retired" cop , the good ole boy system is alive and well at kcpd.

And the taxpayer are paying for it including all the take home police cars used for ball games, shopping, etc. and you pay the for the gas too. not to mention all money spent to lobby representatives at Jefferson city.

    kcpd is a sham.

  15. The police insurance issue is all about the firefighters wanting more money and influence. Is it proper for unions to be greedy?

  19. These cops run a protection racket... do what our consultants say, who whine and dine us at Capitol Grille, or we won't answer your 911 calls. It's a scam in the 9th most dangerous city in the U.S. Local control Now!!

  20. 6:10 -- underpaid? Yeah, show me some results in any measure of a police department. As I see it, OVERPAID. Your response typifies KCPD's problems.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Underpaid ?????

    Chief of Police over 151,000.00
    Colonel over 96,000.00
    Major over 85,000.00
    Captain 82,000.00
    Sgt 65,000.000

Plus a take home car for personal use with free gas, laundry service, free car wash, free lobbyist meals, retirement, expensive health care plan....

    AND you think your underpaid????
    Give me a fricken break.

  22. "...Again, I can't blame the KCPD for wanting to stay out of the clutches of City Hall."

If they don't want to be connected to city hall, then they should quit and go work for someone else. It's a bit pretentious to want to wear the symbol of KC and at the same time want to ostracize them.

Oh, I can't wait till the public union busters show up in KC!

  23. KCPD fight for health-care: KC officers turn out in force for health insurance discussion ....

Trying to intimidate the Board of Police Commissioners and City Officials.

KCPD is just like the Mafia and their black hand methods. Show of Force from "public servants"?
