I'm happy for KC, and Sly James. Finally, some hope for moving forward.
I bet SSB will sue Jermaine Reed now that he's won the election.
I bet she'll also sue the city because she looks terrible in sessy underwear.
Its almost sad to see her go--ALMOST--because now what will we have to joke about??
Get busy Tony, I'm already bored.
All jokes aside, SSB, former mayor Funkhouser and many other tired ole corrupted polititions are exactly the reason I moved my family out of the 3rd district, and out of KCMO altogether.
Good Luck Sly James, and KC residents. Here's to some hope for the future of KCMO!!
It was because of my endorsement that Sly won. (JK) I think KC was so shocked by their LAST bad mayoral decision, those who voted paid more attention.
I'm disappointed so much of it was along racial lines though, and I expect an analysis will prove it's more than displays on the surface.
Even so, it wasn't a mistake. Dunno about the rest but it would appear KC's smart enough not to elect someone who would dye her hair pink. That's like electing a bodybuilder or a professional restler, or a Tea Bagger. Or a Republican.
PS. Yes, America is learning after the 2010 election that voting is serious business and voters actually get stuck with whom voted for.
KC was especially burned with the Funkster, as are states who elected Republican governors and Tea Party morons to the house.
We're dumb, but not stupid. Changes are coming. We won't fall for that shit again. I think America's interested in the BEEF.
Which is good.
I'm hoping the era is OVER of political consultants like the locals and the national Karl Roves who think they can win by maneuvering, as opposed to presenting quality candidates.
SLY JAMES, U.S. Marine, reporting for duty KC!! Let's start fixing this mess.
ReplyDeleteI'd be curious to know how the blog brain-trust thinks city workers voted?
ReplyDeleteWhat was the buzz? For Sly or Burke? Are workers afraid of Sly or were they more afraid of the Berkster?
This City employee voted for Sly as did most of the people I worked with.
ReplyDeleteThis City employee, northlander, and pasty white guy voted for Sly too! Congratulations Mayor James!!!
ReplyDeleteGood. Now lets get a new police chief and replace the Board of Police commissioners.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mayor James!
ReplyDeleteBurke had too many nuts working on his campaign. Gloria all over again.
ReplyDeleteMike remains a great guy, devoted to this city.

I guess I'll have to wait four more years for a promotion.
ReplyDeleteWhens Tony's big assed Sly bashathon start?
ReplyDeleteNext week?
I supported Sly but thought he might lose. Had no idea he'd win in a landslide.
ReplyDelete10:32 Thought the same, supported sly but thought he'd lose in a tight race. Optimistic about Kc's future...finally!
