Everybody is reporting the disqualification of Michael Fletcher on the ballot this morning and then there's reporting of the competing rallies from Incumbent Council Lady Sharon Sanders Brooks and Michael Fletcher . . .
SSB is calling for Mr. Fletcher to drop out.
Mr. Fletcher says he's staying in and wants voters to cast their ballot for him anyway . . .
But there's not much reporting of what's being said . . .
Here is an important quote from Fletcher today reported by AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS:
"Fletcher just made the allegation that the judge ruled against him because the white power structure doesn't want Black people to help The Black Community. He also claimed Jermaine Reed and SSBrooks are liked by the white power structure because they don't stand up for Black people."
Thanks to the TKC TIPSTERS who want this information out there . . . The legal perspective is being reported very well in the mainstream media but I notice when there's talk of racial divisions or SUPREMACY the media tends to shy away from the touchy subject.
That's not the case here on TKC where neither this blog nor readers are afraid to consider EVERY PERSPECTIVE surrounding this contentious 3rd District Battle.
Fletcher is such a piece of shit. End of story.

When all else, including trying to cheat and intimidate, fail, there's always the race card. It's always the "white establishment's" fault.

There are some great young candidates like Ellington who actually has some ideas and would like toprovide some serious representation for folks on the east side.

I am a prominent african american citizen and I agree with Mike Fletcher, Jermaine nor Sharon Sanders Brooks will stand up for blacks. Sharons, record speaks for itself she's hateful and power hungry. The 3rd district has not advanced since Carol Coe and Congressman Cleaver.

Let me just say this, Sharon Sanders Brooks definitely doesn't stand up for white people. So, if your problem is that she doesn't stand up for the 3rd district - say that and leave race out of it. She clearly is ineffective for people in general. Now I certainly don't want Fletcher in because the race card is played before he even steps out of the gates.
ReplyDeleteI am still voting for Mike Fletcher because we want someone who will work to create jobs and stop crime in the 3rd neither of what SSB can or will do. She is a very hateful woman and I know MF will stand up for us and make things happen for our community. We deserve a strong voice at the table just like all the other districts have. And there is no such thing as a race card. It is an ongoing fact of life in America and we all know it. So if he views things in that matter it is a reality to most blacks in America as well as other minorities. It is not fictious or makebelieve.

to 7:35...I don't do hand outs and even if I did your mere words could not hurt me. I handle my busy just like a lot of people in the 3rd do. You have a huge misconception on who lives in there. We have bad representatives and we need a change plain and simple. ReplyDeleteIn the rural area that I am from, people who sit on their rears and take hand outs (without using them as hand UPs--there is a difference!) are called rednecks or wood chucks. They are all White people. They have problems with drug use, violence and crime, and their problems bleed over into the general population of the rural state--now to a much greater degree than in the 1970s and 1980s when I was growing up there.
We have a societal problem with entitlement mentalities and spoiled brat behavior being tolerated, both Black and White.
BTW, our sixth district representation isn't any great shakes either. Please don't vote for any at-large retreads!
Upon further review, I do have to add this: the White wood chuck, all cleaned up, has a better chance of being judged on merits than a cleaned up Black person from the 3rd district. There are still people in the world who think that people of color are different or inferior.
