Just off the phone with a rather KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER and heard some polling info that comes from last week but still rings true.
Strangely enough this polling snippet comes from a rival of the leader so it interests me that much more . . .
Last week . . .
Mike Burke led the Kansas City Mayoral Pack rather recently.
Mayor Funky and Sly James were slugging it out for second place.
Deb Hermann is 3rd.
Jim Rowland isn't far behind Deb and he was picking up steam late in the race.
And I think we all know that Lucy Pinder reigns supreme. This should be interesting.

Mike Sanders endorsement of Deb made it a no brainer NOT to vote for her.

ReplyDeleteThe story of the day is Sanders' political failure in the form of the Hermann campaign, and without Funk as a bad example people will look critically at the Sanders Regime.
ReplyDeleteBurke had a long way to go to get back in the race. If he is 3rd or above you can thank the KC Star. Same for james. His supporters were inside baseball. Rowland wasn't on the map.
ReplyDeleteI have a question for all you political watchers. What does it mean when Burke spent money his campaign didn't have to run and racked up debt (to himself) to go forward with the project? Sounds very Barnes like.
What the heck did James do with all his money? He had the most and nothing to show for it? Sign of his tenure as Mayor?
What does it mean that Herman gets the fibbers award for most exagerated claims? Will she shoot straight with the voters? At least she will be able to smoke in public again starting tomorrow.
And then there's Rowland. Rowland made all those bad votes not because he had bad judgement, it was because he sold his vote to Barnes to be Chair of Budget Committee. Does that mean we need to ignore his words and check his campaign finaces instead?
That leaves Funkhouser and explains why he will win tonight. Despite claims to the contrary, this was a weak field of candidates that no one got excited about except the 10 campaign workers who blogged non-stop on here. (And Yael, who helped Funkhouser)
Most of James' money went to young organizers associated with Jason and Diana Kander.
