Mike Sanders undermined Outgoing City Council Dude Terry Riley, he repeatedly dissed members from Freedom Inc. and he simply seems to adore the gaze of the Corridor crowd rather than the urban constituencies that helped put him into office. So, this will be a great opportunity for the County Executive to go back to his roots. I guess . . .
In any event . . . In dividing up Kansas City power brokers, the opinion of Mr. Peanut is ALWAYS a major consideration.

ReplyDeleteAnd so typical of KCMO elementary school politics, Nutter picks a candidate because "he doesn't like" the other one. Isn't it possible to hope for some adult supervision where candidates are supported or not for their iedeas and proposals?
The current council doesn't work with the police board because "they don't like each other", even as two homicides take place in the city every week.
How about some serious government instead of more infantile egos?

ReplyDeleteThe biggest loser on election night was Mike Sanders. Not only was it demonstrated that his endorsement means nothing and that it might actually hurt a candidate (ask his sister or Robbie Makinen) but Sanders' huge ego made him jump into an endorsement when he clearly could have and should have stayed out. And whoever wins, James or Burke won't let him forget.
ReplyDeleteBut the big picture is that unfortuntely for Mikey, now KC doesn't have the bumblings of the Funk that has hogged the news spotlight away from Sanders' personal and public problems. Everyone talks about it privately, but now look for Sanders to get real scrutiny of his incompetence PUBLICLY.

ReplyDeleteSilly people. Nutter can donate tens of thousands to groups that endorse Sly. He can also give to PACS. This is a tough race for Sly to win, but it's doable.
ReplyDeleteI am appalled at the disrespect for Nutter and Dutch Newman. They are both very kind and nice people. Nutter has made millions and only wants KC to be a good city. He grew up here, has invested lots of time and energy in various efforts in Kansas City. Dutch has worked hard to get all kinds of candidates elected. She has supported Republicans (Dick Berkley) and Democrats. Its easy to bash them in an anonymous blog, but they are way better people than any blogger who uses his poisen pen to defame people who actually make a difference in Kansas City. What is all this bashing of Mike Sanders? What has Mike done other than make Jackson County respectable? He was not supported by the blue bloods when he ran for county exec, but he has won their support with his sound practices that have made the county solvent. So, some pea-brained bloggers want to demean those who are bold enough to step into leadership roles. These blogs seem to bring out the crazies who can do nothing more than bash, bash, bash. The FF do not listen to Louie and you have too much integrity to take the PAC money. If you do take it, you become their property. I beg you. Keep your campaign away from the unions and serve ALL the people of Kansas City.
