An appellate court just DENIED MICHAEL FLETCHER a writ of prohibition to try and place on hold a Jackson County judge's ruling on his residency until an appeal takes place!!!

I am very surprised that no one has brought up Michael Fletchers racial tirade against KCPD officers on a traffic stop back a few years ago. One of the local news channels used to have the dashcam tape. Basically 30 minutes of him shouting racial slurs at the two officers. Classy right? To me that sounds was worse than any Capt. Taco remarks. Glad he is off the ballot.

What's to say Sharon and her gang won't do the same thing to Jermaine? If the guy met the required 6 months residency requirement he's clear to run period. What the hell is going on at the County!

ReplyDelete@1:28 p.m. The elections board doesn't, but maybe should, do that kind of screening. It issues the letters based on the info provided it by the candidates. Re: the appeal, Have you seen any of the documenets? It is crystal clear that Fletcher told the CA courts that he was domiciled and a resident of Long Beach CA since 2006. There is no question about that. Neither the trial court judge, nor the appellate court were activist. They followed the law.

Re: Jermaine, between you and me, he probably has residency issues too. Who's fault is that? I heard that Flectcher served him with documents challenging his residency. Altho' I don't know if that is true.
Fletcher, Reed, Rice; all of these candidates have residency isues because none of them want to actually LIVE in the Third District. And why would that be?
ReplyDeleteThose residents who are unfortunate enough to actually REALLY live there have been taken advantage of, extorted, screwed, used as steps for the egos of self-appointed "leaders", and otherwise ignored for decades. And the good old parade of politicians, self-serving organizations, grifters, and hangers-on just keeps rolling on through this election.
The voter turnout east of Troost will be in the single digits. And tens of thousands of dollars have changed hands, none of which will be seen by regular folks.
What a tragic story to watch year after year. And whose fault is that?

ReplyDeleteEven if he was deemed a resident of Kansas City, the address that he claims, 4309 Walnut is NOT in the 3rd District. That address is in fact in the 4th District, so he wouldn't qualify as a 3rd District candidate anyway.
ReplyDeleteSSB is not a Public Servant that is why if she wins she needs to be recalled. We don't want her. She is suppose to represent our voices but she does not. She has been there for four years and the crime has increased under her leadership or lack there of. She likes photo ops and parties and pretends she is working hard for the people. ReplyDeleteResidency issues in KC politics is not new nor has it stopped people for being on the ballots before, but because it is big bad MF all of a sudden it's a problem. Reed and Rice have issues too so what is up with that. Brooks knew she couldn't win vote upon vote so she went BUSH tactics and we all know how that left the country by using a judge to decide our vote. Don't give up Mr. Fletcher! Brooks never fought this hard for the residence!

ReplyDelete1:28 PM AND 9:14 PM The election board certifies signatures to meet requirements to be placed on the voting ballot. If signatures are not letigimate, they are stricken from the petition and the candidates must have a certain number of valid signatures to be eligible to be placed on the ballot. THE ELECTION BOARD CERTIFIES SIGNATURES. They print the voting ballots and make voting machines available for voters. All information for the ballot is sent by the city clerk, county clerk, school board secretary,and Secretary of State. Poll locations for voting are sought by an official at the election board. Ask questions to learn about electoral procedures, civics and government. Please don't blame the election board for throwing candidates off the ballot. The Judge makes the determination to remove candidates from the ballot. Consider visiting the Election Board at Union Station to gather more information.
