TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! THE BOB COLLINS UMKC CLASS WITH AN AMAZING WINNING RECORD PREDICTS BURKE VS. FUNKHOUSER AFTER THE PRIMARY!!! ALSO, E-TAX WINS!!!

Ah, this takes me back . . .
Bob Collins and his UMKC Poli-Sci Class have predicted the winner of the UMKC Mayoral election since forever . . . For more than a few elections, they've never been wrong.
Here are their latest results:
UMKC-POL-SCI315 SP2011: Class Primary Results
Robert Collins
Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2011 5:15 PM
The results are in:
E tax: 84% keep the Tax, 16% no tax
Funkhouser 30%
Burke 41%
Roland 2%
James 11%
Klein 5%
Herman 11%
We are projecting Burke and Funkhouser will be in the final election.

Since Kansas City is too broke-ass to afford reliable poll results that are unaffiliated with a campaign, this will have to do.
wrong again.
ReplyDeleteFunk ahead in another poll. Boy the elites are going to be upset Tuesday night.
ReplyDeleteWRONG - FUNKY GOES SQUEELING HOME TO WV - DON'T FORGET TO TAKE MISS PIGGY WITH YOU.
ReplyDeleteHERMAN AND JAMES WALK AWAY WITH THIS ONE.
Funk is 41% actually
ReplyDeletecheck the UMKC website
A dream matchup for Burke, unfortunately Funk finishes 4th or 5th because how many people from 07 would actually vote for him again?
ReplyDeleteFunk taught a lot of kids at his second job several years ago at UMKC in a masters program and I can assure you none of us are voting for him. What he taught us in regards to Urban redevelopment and public private partnerships is nothing what he preaches today.
ReplyDeleteMy money is on Burke and Hermann but I'm desperately hoping for Klein upset.
ReplyDeleteI asked for a Sly James yard sign, didn't get a response. So - count two for Funk from this household.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's Hermann and Sly James because then no matter who wins and who loses, Kansas City wins..
ReplyDeleteE-Taxs fails
ReplyDeleteVoter turnout will be high in Platte, Clay and Cass counties. The tax will fail in these counties, along with eastern Jackson.
ReplyDeleteEastern Jack not in KC e-tax passes.
ReplyDelete8:28 pm. Please call James HQ tomorrow and we will gets yard sign out to you same day.

ReplyDeleteNo way any candidate gets more than 30% in this one. Roland 2%? Finishing 3% less than Klein? Don't think so.
ReplyDeleteAlso an 84 to 16 win for the E-Tax....not likely. The E-Tax could in but it won't be by more than 20%.
ReplyDelete9:22...you don't belong on this blog if you don't know where the election is being held
ReplyDeletePoor kids, don't have a clue.
ReplyDeleteWheeler will still be on the ballot. That alone will consume 5%. Did they not take that into consideration?
ReplyDeleteE-Tax campaign sucks. When I hear "Keep KC Alive" I think of people getting fucking killed everyday...not a god damn tax.
The campaign will lose because Pat Gray is running it. But that is the point right? Gray gets a fat 100k off of the e-tax and another 70-100k off of Rowland both of which could lose their ass.
10:05 - Did you mean to adddress your comments to 8:36? Politics certainly involves not angering those who tried in earnest to help in Sly James's campaign in the first place. Good job, Diana K. Hope it works out for ya.
ReplyDeleteYeah, once again, I personally (being in the class) don't think anyone knows what's going on in this race, BUUUUUUT, no one has really pushed Burke, so it's kind of strange he's polling such high numbers. Anywho, it was amusing hearing our long gone city manager take such high interest in TKC reporting... there ya go politics!
ReplyDeleteThe E-Tax is toast.
ReplyDeleteIf this prediction is correct (it's not), why not just have Stretch v Terry Dunn in the general?
ReplyDeleteNo two folks would personify that choice better or more clearly.
