AN "OPEN MISSIVE" TO DR. FUNKY!!!

Mayor Funky's recent campaign commercial wasn't just lame but also drew a hefty amount of criticism.

Check it:

Mayor,

BASTA!!!

Really, Mark, every darn time I think you have reached the bottom of your self made pit you amazingly dig deeper.

I am not a "special interest", a force of darkness, a paid saboteur. I am one of three (Mike and Mike being the other two) who did start the recall effort because we saw that you are simply unschooled and unfit to be mayor of Kansas City. Case in point: Your latest campaign YouTube entitled "Funk-o-mania" is riddled with cheap shots and harmful images. Stop it, just stop it.

Mr. Sylvester James has done nothing to you other than to know that he is a better man than you can ever be. He will continue his public service traveling the high road while you and yours continue to cover yourselves with shame and desperation. The image of a woman in the late stages of pregnancy despairing her situation, "Please tell me it's just a good case of the funkomania going around." "Nope, you're pregnant." That's suppose to be funny? A seemingly unwanted, unborn child at the mercy of your "prescriptions" is a terrifying thought.

You still have a few months left on your family Health Insurance. Use it wisely, mental health benefits are included.

Man up and take down this awful clip.

And have a great day,

Susan Ramirez

PS: to all of the CCs , this is considered an open missive.

Mayor Funky should be the outgoing Mayor in less than a day . . . But I guess it is kind of disheartening that he couldn't leave office with even a modicum of dignity.

On the other hand, that wouldn't have been much fun.

Comments

  1. I'm not voting for him... under his watch crime has skyrocketed.

  2. What an eleventh hour piece of crap this is!

Funk seems to be the smart one... he appeals to the public instead of some of the morons in here who just throw mud around this room.

Don't know ya Susan, but that was no less mean spirited than anything I've seen coming out of that guy. Actually much more so than in the public arena where it counts. Mental health? That's like talking about bare feet. Y"all need to quit modeling after right wing talkers. But as you say, that's entertainment and so much fun.

rman sed it. Don't wast your time dissing me, I'm not running.

  3. Awful ad, just horrible. Typical bad taste from a really bad mayor.
I can't believe he thinks this is clever...

    ReplyDelete
  4. Way to tell the truth Susan, No only did you tell it like it is about Funky, but you also shot down Ann McGreorger's claim about starting the recall, which she did not. Two birds with one stone.

Radioman, old birds should not try to fly with the younger birds they all get left behind, and this is not the 20's anymore

  5. It is only appropriate that the Mayor's tenure end with one last example of bad taste.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Another example of very bad judgement and poor taste on the Co-mayors part. KC deserves better. The last four years have been a nightmare.

Anne McGregor also claimed to be endorsed by Jim Nutter, when it was not true.

Her punishment is going back to sex with Harris Wilder.

  9. Don't misunderstand. The Funkster's outlived his usefulness, imho. Trashing me, suggesting I'm too old to suit up for this intramural contest is pretty arrogant, given that youth isn't known for wisdom.

I really haven't seen the Funk do anything that isn't pretty common among politicians. And the wannabees are showing the very same tendencies.

I think trash talk, armtwisting, favoring friends and greasing palms just comes with government, which in most countries is just a way of garnering power and redistributing wealth.

Don't be takin' the high road. I'm way too suspicious... and that came from the wisdom of experience. I've also been around long enough to know that you're no different than your predecessors, even though youth tend to think they're better.

We idealistic children of the sixties turned out just like the children of the fifties! In it for the dough. The only difference is that now it's OUR TURN.

The decisionmakers are my age, not yours. You are only paid to do the legwork until my generation's ready to hand over to the Son of Saddam, who is just like his dad in most ways.

  10. It was a negative video. Susan Ramirez has as much right as anyone else to state her opinion. This missive was first sent to The DumbFunk via email. So, stick it in your ear, Radioman. You hate EVERYONE! We got that.

  11. Note to Funky: Ollie Gates' phone message sounds more like a call for a return to a segregated but "orderly" Kansas City than a justification for voters to waste another four years on you.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Was that a cameo from the Co-mayors daughter. The Co-mayors are really disgusting. It is time to go. I really hope you start packing on the 23rd. KC doesnt want you around for even another month.

  13. Funk and Sly in the final. The political elites have cannibalized themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Politics. No surprises here.

  15. Radioman, even though 50 is knocking on my back door compaired to you I am youth. Greasing palm and all the BS is OLD SCHOOL politics, and we are sick of it. It time for the public to remind the politition THEY WORK FOR US,(the people). OLD SCHOOL politics has ran it's life out just like the usefullness of the Unions

  17. Wow. When you prescribe Mental Health advice you should not sound like a raving lunitic.

  18. Ollie Gates is just another one of the tired old problems in KCMO politics. One day he's complaining about the KCPD working a on-the-scene case out of his parking lot; the next he's on robocalls telling voters that Funkhouser is going to be great for public safety in KCMO. And next, he'll be heading to city hall for millions of dollars for his Buck O'Neil center.
We need to listen to and elect some young and new candiates of all races who leave this tired old crap behind and understand that we'll all rise or fall together.
Take a tour of the east side. That's where the whole of KCMO is headed listening to the same old losers.

  20. Funk - 35%
    Burke - 19%
    James - 15%
    Rowland - 12%
    Hermann - 12%
    Klein - 7%

    Bet on it.

  21. Susan, who wrote this letter, it is working with Burke s campaign

  22. reduced the Major crimes of Kansas City by 31% from 2007 to 2010. KC's violent crime shows significant decline, measured by th CQ Press City Crime ranking 2008 v. 2010.

  23. Does that include the murder rate you dumb shit?

Funk ain't done nothing about that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Susan may be working with Burke's campaign but she did not tell one single lie in this letter AND who amongst us DOESN'T think they need psychological help? Susan is well respected at City Hall and in the community and has done more for the citizens of KC than that Funky smell has ever done! Plus, she is not a sell out.

    DITTO!!

Susan also supported Funkhouser during his first campaign. She did what she thought was best during the Funkhouser recall rather than sitting on her ass whining about our miserable mayor.

  26. I'm very disappointed you said that, Byron. I don't hate anybody. Well, nobody in HERE, including all the politicians. I'm sure I can hate some poeple in the ground, and some republicans... but otherwise, no.

Just dont' be mad just because I defend your brother on an unfair attack. It's not personal. I just thought SHE was being unnecessarily personal.

That's hardly hate. It's saying that meanness has no part of politics. Like athletes can still slap each other on the ass after losing a big basketball game... you can COMPETE, but you don't have to HATE your opponents.

    Does that make sense?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sorry, let me PS that. I think YOU have some hate issues. I hope you get past them. If you can't, I hope you have damned good reason for not doing so! Then I'm okay with it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. PPS. No. I don't want details. I consider you my friend. but no.

    You're right:

    Funk - 35%
    Anybody but Funk - 65% (Burke - 19%; James - 15%; Rowland - 12%; Hermann - 12%; Klein - 7%)

Incumbents usually win by a larger margin - he might make it past the primary, but he definitely won't make it past the general!

    Bet on it.

  30. Radioman, perhaps I overreacted. (?)

I don't know about him, but I'm ready to retire.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Funk - 25%
    Burke - 20%
    Rowland - 15%
    James - 15%
    Hermann - 12%
    Wheeler - 8%
    Klein - 5%
