KCPD Chief's Blog: Loss of earnings tax would cut police services

Comments

  1. KCPD Chief Corwin wants his wine and dine money for the Capital Grille on the Plaza.

  2. The KCPD could have saved millions by participating in the same medical insurance plans as other city employees. But the police board is such a gutless clueless bunch of wussies that the PD does absolutely anything it wants, including doing nothing about two homicides every single week of the year.
Maybe the new administration will give the public safety issue the prioirty it deserves.

  3. Let's see, KCPD can't solve a murder unless they stumble upon the perp, they routinely abuse citizens and falsify reports and complaints and cost taxpayers money by engaging in bad behavior that results in lawsuits.

I think cutting their budget is a good start.

  6. Regardless of what one thinks of the police department, losing 20% of the general revenue will affect all city services. This includes Fire and ambulance, health, parks and recreation, etc. For those that actually live in Kansas City it is foolish to abolish the E-tax. Our taxes will be higher and our services diminished. The only people who benefit with the repeal of said tax are those who work in KC but live elsewhere.

  7. If all city services were cut by 20% then there would be at least 20% less graft, corruption, waste and inefficiency. Down with the e-tax!

All those services you want will still be available... you'll just have to pay for them yourself instead of being able to force others to subsidize your lifestyle.

  9. Time to take the PORK out of Kansas City.
The people in the Middle East are rising up and are being heard. They are holding their government accountable for it's corruption and waste.
Time for the people of Kansas City to do the same. Vote no E-Tax no more free lunches.

  10. Free lunches. What a riot. I love how this guy is calling the BASIC services that EVERY government should provide (safety, cleanliness, being put out if you're ON FIRE) PORK spending. People, please educate yourselves further before making a decision about this tax. www.keepKCalive.com
