Let's recite the facts:
ReplyDeleteThe law says that a state rep can't be seated unless taxes, fees, and penalties have been paid in full.
Jonas :I'm not careful with my money and won't be careful with yours either": Hughes owed fines, taxes, and penalties, and could not be seated in the legislature.
The "Star" pointed out that the residents of his district were not represented in Jeff City, because Hughes wasn't seated, and since being on the public payroll is the only job he's ever had, he had no money to pay and had to ask family and friends.
He has FINALLY paid all his back taxes (I guess the taxpayers just gave him a paycheck), so now he can serve.
Bring a minority shouldn't change the rules, the state's insistence on enforcing them, or the media's reporting violations.
Let's get back to the carnival in the Third District city council race and watch yet another cast of truly outrageous characters.
State Representative Brent Lasater still has not paid his property taxes yet.
ReplyDeleteThen he shouldn't be seated, either.

ReplyDelete6:37 am up trying to find a job?
ReplyDeleteI am sure Anne could land you one if you give her back the money she overpaid you with. Way to sink that ship loser.
ReplyDeleteJonas has accepted the cosmic memory of what his name actually is. He borrowed the money from another fool and will find some "creative" way to pay the loan back.
