ANY OF YOU D-BAGS WHO SUPPORTED DURWIN RICE NEED TO APOLOGIZE NOW!!!

So it turns out Kansas City isn't as horribly racist and divided as I had thought. Who knew?

The TKC BLOG COMMUNITY stood firmly against Durwin Rice (No Fish-sticks) and his cynical power grab that seemed like SUPREMACY!!! Our opposition even featured documents to back it up thanks to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS!!!

Kansas City voters did the right thing by refusing to move him past the primary.

However, while I found Durwin's politics and tactics despicable . . . That doesn't mean he's not a nice guy.

In fact, a TKC READER I respect quite a bit had this to offer about Durwin Rice:

"Durwin has shown that he can accomplish a lot with little or no resources. I find it ironic that people criticize him for not being in tune with the needs of the 3rd District when he's fought so long to promote the Troost corridor as a viable place to live and work. Tulips On Troost took a lot of work, organizing, fundraising and diplomacy to accomplish and it hasn't been just a one-time photo-op or late to the game project like some politicians are prone to try during an election year. Durwin has worked for the betterment of the community for years and will bring all the necessary leadership skills to a city government sorely in need of talented leaders and not well-connected power mongers and publicity hounds."

I don't completely disagree but now Durwin is back to the community activist part of Kansas City's political came that is almost completely without reward or commendation. So he's a bit closer to being one of the good guys thanks to his defeat . . . Still, anybody who voted for him needs to apologize right now for their support of a rather obvious last minute residency ploy.

Also, none of Durwin's good deeds change the fact that he didn't live in the District for more than six months at the time of the Primary election yesterday . . . But I do wish him the best and just wanted to note/gloat that community outrage on this topic wasn't covered anywhere else but TKC and this is one place where it's undeniable that KICK-ASS TIPSTERS AND READERS MADE A DIFFERENCE. Natch.

  4. I supported Durwin Rice - and you want me to apologize for what...that the 3rd district will continue to look like a 3rd world country? Don't think so. It will still look like a 3rd world country in 4 years, guaranteed.

  7. I think Melba Curls has been part of the worst council in history and Brandon Ellington is way too young to be effective. So I voted for Rice. Sorry if that means I'm racist...I really didn't think about it like that. I didn't vote for Tracy Ward, either...

  11. What a load of crap. Reading Tony's views on Rice is like a visit to Bizzaro World. Rice is not a racist, the people that supported him are not racists, he has lived in the area a lot longer than some of these carpet baggers that ran and he more or less moved across the street to be in the district.

"That doesn't mean he's not a nice guy"

Tony even got that part wrong. Hell Rice has a huge amount of self love, even for a politician.

Narcissistic personality disorder is not that uncommon in politicians and would not have prevented Rice from doing a good job at city hall.
