A Look At "Miss Freek-a-Leek" And Back To The TKC Grind On MLK Day In Kansas City!!!

According to the world's most accurate encyclopedia Esther Baxter rose to prominence after being featured in the music video for Petey Pablo's single "Freek-A-Leek" in 2004 and that's where she earned her nickname. In the aftermath of that stunning career launch, she earned a great many appearances in magazines like Smooth, Black Men's Magazine, King, and XXL.

In 2007 she "retired" from modeling and video shoots in order to pursue her dream of attending college. Since then she has made a couple of appearances in magazines like Vibe but she's mostly scaled back her work after the birth of her son and seems to be focusing a career as an actress with maybe a bit more "upscale" photo work.

This small part of Ms. Baxter's story is just a simple way to note . . .

Sure, some might decry this very honest gesture of appreciation as stupid. But it's obviously in the right spirit of this blog and just my way of keeping The Dream alive . . . ALSO, unlike so many other celebrations around Kansas City today, it's not totally taxpayer subsided.
