Here's the deal, when I've talked to people about what they've seen at the Mayoral forums, a great many folks tell me that Henry Klein impresses. It's only later when they check with political insiders or friends "in politics" that they have their first impressions challenged with opinions regarding the efficacy of his candidacy. Nevertheless, a lot of people hearing Henry Klein's ideas like what he has to say, at least in the handful of forums I've attended.
Even better, I just got off the phone with a very trusted TKC POLITICAL EXPERT and he tells me that people are taking note of Klein's recent mailer because it effectively targets frustrated voters. There is concern that Klein could just split Kansas City's Southland vote.
Take a look at the mailers touting frustrated voters, click for a larger image:

Again, EXPERTS are saying these are effective . . . And I notice, while some folks might disagree with Klein's chances to make the General Election, NOBODY is questioning the wisdom of running an "outsider" campaign.
Great I see he is paying attention to Brandon Ellington message-he's been using "enough is enough" for months. Klein if you steal a slogan what else will you steal. People are paying attention.
ReplyDeleteYes we support Brandon Ellington 3rd District AT Large
OMG who did that to him?
ReplyDeleteWorst design job in years.
Good grief! Some of these candidates are actually running on IDEAS!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder your experts are concerned, T. Campaigning against actual proposals for them is like a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
Time for Glorioso to get out the old wooden Trojan horse!
Broken Record:

"Interesting story, I'm Henry Klein. I am on the board of Habitat for Humanity".
"Interesting story, I'm Henry Klein. I am on the board of Habitat for Humanity".
"The point is, I'm Henry Klein. I am on the board of Habitat for Humanity".
He is great for amusement at forums much like his mailers suit a circus advertisement. I mean no disrespect but he his consistently hillarious.
A shame he didn't run for a 4th district seat. He is amusing when he plays whack-a-funk with Mean Rowland, but aren't we better than that?
ReplyDeleteFrustrated? Yes. Willing to go with Klein as Mayor? No. I've had "enough" of the mean city hall sniping.
Everyone knows Funkhouser has a horrible personality. Rowland's isn't much better. I think there are better options as well and we don't have to be nasty.
ReplyDeleteKansas City the Hillbilly City.
ReplyDeleteWith a Hillbilly City Government.
1:33 "Enough is enough" stolen? From whom? I think Dewey used that one in his campaigns of 1944 and 1948, and I'd bet he wasn't the first.
ReplyDeleteHenry, chin down. Chind down in your pics.
ReplyDeleteHow about crime? I don't have one of his flyers. Will he do anything about that worthless Board of Police Commissioners?
ReplyDeleteUMKC Students are doing his design work.
ReplyDeleteHe's a joke. But, don't forget, he is on the board of Habitat for Humanity.
ReplyDeleteAnd Habitat for Humanity is a proselytizing blight on reason.
ReplyDeleteBuild houses. Forget the Jesus stuff.
And his claim to have proposed more new ideas and initiatives than all the others combined is just wrong.
ReplyDeleteKlein HAS proposed new ideas and initiatives- of which are even decent. But Rowlan has proposed even more; hell there are probably more in that environmental thing I saw mentioned on PrimeBuzz the other day then Klein has done total.
Not that it really matters. Nobody really cares about this stuff. And Klein is a loser. Four years ago, "people" were talking about how "great" he was in forums, too. (Go back and read the Pitch's special on all 9000+ candidates for mayor that year). He got, like, 500 votes.
