Without the local blogosphere there would be no significant way for the public to challenge to narrative of the mainstream press . . . Or at least not a way that was so powerful and efficient.
To wit, close Kansas City media watchers might disagree with the tactics of Alonzo Washington but they know that he is CORRECT regarding his assertions about MSM not wanting to credit the facts he discovers.
Money quote:

Again, like it or not, the two facts Mr. Washington notes are correct. The tragic case of the Westport dude beat down involves the poor party loving guy at 5x the legal limit. And Alonzo Washington had a great many tips on the Pastor Love story BEFORE it broke but never got credit for his Citizen media investigation.
i had my first opportunity to hear tony on the radio the other night, and as i suspected he is nothing but a punk. poorly spoken and obviously of limited perspicacity. maybe just due to youth.

ReplyDeleteAnd 6:32am is right. Being bothered by a helpless drunk is hardly an excuse to punch the guy in the face..and Alonzo seems to have conveniently forgotten the fact that folks took cell phone pictures while the man lay dying in the street.
This is a tragedy and a series of terrible accidents and bad decisions all the way around.
Why doesn't Alonzo try walking the halls at Southwest High Schooland see if he can help PREVENT some of this behavior instead of crowing after the fact.
He and Al Brooks have made careers of other people's suffering.
I agree with 6:32. Since when does being drunk and loud justify a death sentence? No wonder there are so many murders in the black community! Maybe the KCPD should be giving etiquitte lessons to stop the killings.

ReplyDeleteHonestly if it wasn't for TKC, Alonzo would not get any attention. His 15 minutes are up, he has ridden the Precious Doe train to the end of the line. He has burned all his bridges. Thank god he is able to live off of welfare for his autistic kid, otherwise he might have to get a job rather than spend his time writing like a 12 year old on My Space. Truth be told it makes Alonzo happy when a white person is killed, beaten or raped. He hates white people.
