TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! OLD SCHOOL DOCUMENT ANSWERS PORT AUTHORITY CONTROVERSY QUESTIONS AND DEMONSTRATES THE STORY WAS A SILLY ELECTION SEASON SCAM RUN ON THE KANSAS CITY STAR!!!

I guess I was wrong.
Word was just sent my way . . .
TKC IS JUST ABOUT TO BLOW THE LID OFF THIS WHOLE PORT AUTHORITY FAUX OUTRAGE!!!
First . . .
Let Me Clear My Throat. (Pause)
Here's the important part with the corresponding link:
THANKS TO A TKC TIPSTER THIS BLOG HAS OBTAINED A 2008 DOCUMENT THAT DISCUSSES THIS ENTIRE CONTROVERSY, ADDRESSES IT POINT BY POINT AND DOESN'T GIVE MUCH CREDENCE TO ALLEGATIONS OF WRONGDOING BY WILLIAM T. SESSION AND/OR TWS!!!
PUT SIMPLY, THIS IS OLD NEWS!!!
This document looks like the real deal to me and some rather trusted TKC Advisers, even if it's not . . . I still stand by my assertion that there's not much to this story.
Even better, TKC would like to feature some first person perspective on the story sent my way:
"I am not intimately involved but have been in meetings regarding TWS from the very beginning. This was no shell company. Everything was legitimate and for the purpose of growing a new, dynamic company. I read the business plan, it was a real effort to develop an infrastructure company well beyond Kansas City.
I've also sent you a letter from Kent Sullivan of Stinson Morrison Hecker to Jeff Kaczmarek, President and CEO of the EDC dated November 26, 2008 clearing TWS of any conflict. It wasn't until Funkhouser failed to get Runnion off the Port Authority board that this became an issue fed to the media.
Really, do you think that if Runnion and Session had supported Funkhouser's reelection bid, this would even be a story?"
That's an excellent point.
Here's an even better one . . .
TKC JUST CAUGHT THE KANSAS CITY STAR BEING PLAYED LIKE A CHEAP WHOOER!!!
(Not a whore, that's too harsh. Just a whooer.)
Insiders already know this story, I like the David Martin and Joe Tone take on the tale because they mostly refuse to take the bait and turn it into an silly season hot mess.
Still, The Star should be ashamed for being so badly played.
Again, maybe the feds could swoop in at any moment but what TKC CAN SHOW READERS EXCLUSIVELY is that this stuff is old news, it's already been reviewed by lawyers and the City Council is correct when they note the tale has simply been "politicized" . . . Too bad Kansas City's paper of record couldn't figure out as much.
Either way, for the most part the public doesn't care about insiders attempting to sway elections. Natch.
Good, good.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Tony - it's all okay because an unnamed "trusted" source says it is?
ReplyDeleteMartin is still carrying Kendall's water.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jeff Roe is disappointed again. Now he has to manufacture another scandal to discredit Mike Burke.
ReplyDeleteThis was trash pushed by the King of Trash...Steve Glorioso. Trying to get at Burke.
ReplyDeleteBut I have another question because everyone seems to be unable to allow for Burke to bill the Port Authority for legitimate and documented legal work since 1999.
Why do the taxpayers of Jackson County have to pay Jim Rowland and provide health care to his family so that he can run for mayor. Make no mistake...the taxpayers of Jackson County are paying Jim Rowland so he can run for mayor. He likes the salary and health benefits we provide him now,but he wants a better job. Let's discuss THAT!!!
More reasons to Vote NO to the E-Tax.
ReplyDeleteFor the person doubting the unnamed trusted source, the unnamed trusted source delivered documents that nobody else did. It's the only proof that's been put on the table so far.
ReplyDeleteLighten up on the BOLD TYPE and exclamation marks Tony your starting to look like the National Enquirer.
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact Tony would take that as a compliment. Poor guy.
ReplyDeleteTony you are being played. The investigation by the EDC lawyer consisted of interviewing the perps and does not answer why a no-bid contract was awarded to the lawyer's construction company. Is there no one else in town that can move dirt.
ReplyDeleteJust because Funky is using it as a campaign issue, does not mean it is not true.
Tony you are a fish for buying the "faux" issue line. I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you. What a dope, what a maroon!
ReplyDeleteI don't know Tony. This may be a rush to judgement on your part. The dueling parties may be playing all of us as their whoores. Something about your "Tipster" sounds fishy. He says "I am not intimately involved " but then admits to "I read the business plan". Two contradictory statements. In any event, this sounds like it is going to be a battle between dueling white attorney's. This is especially fun to watch when white attorneys fight each other over minority issues. A bizarre anamoly to be sure!! The Sullivan letter has to be read between the lines. It was obviously written to sway the uninformed. Before we choose sides to smell armpits, I suggest we all stand back and watch the fire fight for a few rounds or we may become collateral damage. God I love the smell of napalm in the morning!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though that ass-wipe, Runnion is going to get off again...
ReplyDeleteI agree with 10:18. If you are watching two hot babes mud wrestle, the last thing you want is for the fight to end before there is any soiling of the skin! Sit back, order another beer and egg them on!! The longer it lasts the better.

ReplyDelete8:58 AM here. Thank you. I was just fishing, and I think you're right about Glorioso pushing this trash to get at Mike Burke. I also believe Tony's right-its old news dug up to fuel the flames of an otherwise boring (desperate) Funky campaign via Steve Glorioso, and, whoever he supports.
Tony, I share your legendary disdain for the Star and Funky. But I try not to let it cloud my judgement. Just saying. I'm still a fan.
ReplyDeleteEven so, this episode illustrates your success. Everyone (the bad guys and the good guys) now recognizes that you can be an effective outlet for insider information that they want the public to see. Kinda like a hometown Julian Assange but with positive impact.
Just be careful. Resist the temptation if someone trys to set you up with a hot Swedish blonde.
The E-Tax is toast.
ReplyDeleteDoes Jim Rowland use the suite at the stadium he gets from the Jackson County Sports Authority for campaign functions?
ReplyDeleteI think he does. Someone needs to check into this.
If he has free access to the suite, you can bet he's using it for his campaign, which is a big no-no.
I hear Kissick is suing TWS or vice versa over this Port Authority project. I also hear TWS is not in business anymore. This may weigh heavily on this debate. Who has details that they wish to share?
ReplyDeleteTime for the E-Tax to go bye bye, And we really need to suppoort the City Council candidates that are against the E-Tax for goodness sake.
ReplyDeleteI say lets clear house from the Mayor down, this is BS. How long are the residents of Kansas City going to let these thives get away with this shit come on people. If somebody robbed you with a gun you would let your voices be heard about the crime, But now that the crimnals have on a 3 piece suite everybody is ok with it. Well I tell you what keep letting these Bastards get away with this and see what happens. Thanks Tony for this post.
ReplyDelete9:40's got it right. A no-bid under-the-table contract with a newly-formed company run by well-connected representative of the agency making the award deserves scrutiny. This is the kind of "non story" that happens all the time in this town (see David Martin's story at http://www.pitch.com/2009-08-13/news/mark-one-electric-keeps-confounding-government-officials-in-charge-of-minority-contracts/ for yet another example) and that needs as much exposure as possible.

ReplyDelete"Just be careful. Resist the temptation if someone trys to set you up with a hot Swedish blonde."
Are you kidding me?
I don't know about Tony, but, if someone were to try & set me up with a Hot Swedish, (Manwhore) blonde, I think I'd take my chances!!
Damn it! Why'd you have to say that? Now I have to go check out the Escort sites!
12/17/10 8:56 AM
ReplyDeleteI think you mean Kendrick.
Tony must have raised this issue before he knew that his mom's candidate for mayor is just as criminally culpable as Mike Burke. Now Tony has to backtrack.
TWS is legit? Now that's funny.
ReplyDeleteThere has never been and will never be a greater hip hop song than Let Me Clear My Throat. I am busting out the Ed Lover dance up in this bitch.
ReplyDeleteDeb Hermann draws a blank.
ReplyDeleteIf this is such old news, why is the Port Authority suddenly changing their policy on conflict of interest?
ReplyDeleteThere are all sorts of legal explanations for why something is ok, just as Bill Clinton's parsing of the word "is".
This kind of insider crap goes on all the time and it costs the taxpayers millions of dollars every year.
Sleaze is sleaze, no matter what you call it.
Perhaps Tony would be better off just running it straight... and not mixing the facts with his own persional involvement and who hoodwinked the Star, et al.
ReplyDeleteSoemtimes I think this blog is more about Tony than the community. Dude, youre starting to remind me of Geraldo Reviera... and your moron friend Washington.
Put another way, you'll get a lot more respect if you don't let your fuckin EGO get in the way of your stories! Its just very hard to follow a story that has two competing points... namely, the STORY itself and also how important the STORYTELLER is for bringing it to us.
You do this every time you get too big for your britches, Tony, and it makes you sound so vain! Just report your stuff. Your rep will come to you... whatever you deserve. Leave the hype to the tevee stations!
$500 article bt Tony
