TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY POLITICAL INSIDERS QUESTION BIZPAC'S FINANCIAL COMMITMENT TO DEB HERMANN!!!

Recent endorsements for Mayor are important because they not only represent established Kansas City special interests but also a general sense of what local power players are thinking.

However, as always, the most important part of any political race in Kansas City is money.

To wit . . .

KICKASS POLITICAL INSIDERS TALKING TO TKC CLAIM THAT THE GREATER KC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND BIZPAC ARE ONLY COMMITTING A MEASLY $3K TO DEB HERMANN FOR THE PRIMARY!!!

Sadly, under current ethics regs we won't know their full support will be until after the primary is over.

Nevertheless, I was saddened to hear that these dudes just might be cheapskates. Actually, I hear their broke-ass commitment has more to do with the really big money they are dedicating to the E-Tax.

Nevertheless, this low rent official commitment from local business leaders might signify that overall harsh times are really taking hold in Kansas City and will have an impact on the political world as well.

Comments

  1. 4:31 - exactly - Citizens & Freedom have to actually be paid to make an endorsement, so 3K sounds like a great deal to me! Besides, TKC needs to quit talking to Glorioso's spin machine all day.

  2. The disclosure filing is in mid-January isn't it? I don't think it's the org that is supposed to bring in the money, the *members* should be writing some fat checks. At any rate, at least she isn't expected to raise money for them . . .

    ReplyDelete
  3. Fat Cats in City Hall are alive and well for this election season.
Unfortunately the Citizens/Taxpayer will once again be cheated and lied to.

  4. I question her intelligence, who the hell wants a gruff old bitch in charge, Funk is a tool, but this tub o'shit has no tact!

    ReplyDelete
  5. If her Christmas greeting You Tube is an indicator there's not much media savy in play. She kept looking to the side to read the cue card.

    ReplyDelete
  6. 4:52 -- have you ever talked to her? You would find she knows more about the budget and the city's finances than anyone else, and is more willing to be truthful and honest without sugarcoating reality.

    ReplyDelete
  7. she may very well be the best finance chair ever. But we need a leader with charisma that can lead this city without resorting to intimidation or fear mongering.
Deb has no ability to inspire people.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I couldn't even sit though that you-tube video very poorly done.

  9. Tony. When you say "KICKASS KC POLITICAL INSIDERS"... aren't you really just talking about Deb's opponents or their handlers whose job it is to fill your website with stuff in favor of THEIR CANDIDACIES, not her?

Rather than keep this so mysterious, why don't you just say "Herman's opponents are quick to note she's only getting $3,000?

For example. 4:52, you clearly aren't working for Hermann (painting her everyday as some wicked witch) or Funk (who you paint as in someone's pocket). So which candidate do YOU want to see in there? That'd be YOU, right? you just wish Tony was in YOURS! Thank god for comments. BTW, do handlers get paid by the comment?

Instead of this KICKASS shit. They're not doing YOU a favor, Tee, with these 'kickass' tips, theyr'e shilling for their PEOPLE to minimize HER good press!

Same with those after the FUNK. Everybody's after the front runner! Calling these people tipsters is like calling the GOP National Committee an AWESOME FOX NEWS TIPSTER.

I think you're just the only one who listens to them and prints their shit! I don't see this propaganda in the regular media. Maybe because they can smell it for what it IS!

  10. Did she finish high school?

    ReplyDelete
  11. What's the matter, tony? Worried that gravel voiced, dumb-as-dirt debbie hermann won't have enough cash to continue paying you off for the BS happy talk you "write" about her? Aww...that is SO sad. By the way, have you been reporting those unethical payments to the IRS? Maybe I'll drop a dime to the tax cheat hotline on your behalf...

  12. Wasn't Radioman doing some sort of boycott of TKC ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I like this post Tony. Good to mix it up from time to time.

And for some strange reason radio man makes sense from time to time too. It's all insider bullshit around here.

  18. I question the Chamber's commitment to much of anything but themselves.
They just throw a little money in one direction or another and then head home to Johnson County. This year their three top priorities were jobs, crime, and development.
Heard anyting from them about any of these?

  20. Holy Crap! Maybe you should be campaigning instead of looking up links. Most of us have less time to spend reading this than you have to look it up. Really? It's come to this? THIS is your strategy? If it is someone other than Burke . . . why not work FOR him rather than against HER? I guess that's because he's got nothing.

  27. "Cut Police budget by $15 million, forced KCPD to lay off 69 police officers".

Good idea City Employees have been getting laid off for years now while Fire and Police have been spared any cuts. Another good idea would be to combine the police Health care with the City's That would SAVE MILLIONS.
Also combine the Human Resources departments like other Cities have done.

  28. If you spend any time trying to discuss ANY serious issue with the folks at 12th and Oak, you very quickly discover the NOBODY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACTUAL RESULTS ABOUT ANYTHING!
Pursuing serious issues like public safety is way too much work and boring as well. It's much more fun to play make-believe developer and give away millions of dollars to your friends.
And for 9:04 anon. A person with "integrity" who doesn't have any good ideas and can't get along with anyone but his wife isn't going to get us very far as a city.
Not very far in the right direction, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Too much corruption in City Hall get rid of the slush fund Vote no to the E-tax.

    ReplyDelete
  30. People who blame Hermann for the Renaissance North deal need to look only as far as Mike Burke. He will no doubt he'll be a witness in the current case about the botched development. Burke made millions on the deal because he was able to get Barnes and Cauthen to allow the project's debt to be guaranteed. Now the new owners of the botched plan are suing, the city is still paying millions on the debt, but Burke got paid. Ever notice that Burke always gets paid?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Some of these comments are so thinly veiled from Rowland, Burke and Funk supporters. Gettingvthe Biz PAC is a huge victory. Of course the actual group can only give $3k, but their members will write big checks and so will their friends. Funk was never going to get, neither was Sly. Rowland desperately wanted it but not even as much as Burke. Failing to secure Biz PAC and the chamber is the last nail in the coffin for Burke. He should withdraw quietly and quit thowing more than $90k into his own campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  32. To 5:56: shut up, Kendrick.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Deb is a real "care about the people person." When Cauthen was Manager she kept crawling his frame because he wasn't letting enough people go fast enough. City employees should love her.
