TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS MIGHT RUN FOR MISSOURI LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR?!?!
By far Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders is the most powerful gentleman and scholar in Kansas City politics.
But career advancement is what it's all about among the local elite.
Before this election cycle was in full swing, we heard that Sanders was qualified to become Mayor of Kansas City. Sadly, this gutsy bit of political chatter probably won't come to pass.
So now . . .
THE LATEST RUMOR REGARDING JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS IS THAT HE MIGHT RUN FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR!!!
Certainly, Sanders likes keeping his name out there and the image of The County Exec helping fend off the GOP standing side by side with Gov. Jay is a nice thought for these cold winter months.
Right now this is a hot topic of discussion in Jeff City as we get ready for a rather nasty session and the thoughts of Democrats turn to help from wherever they can get it.
Good, someone has to run against that rat Tilley.

Sanders is the most delusional and most egotistical politician out there and he might actually want to do this, but he has no chance. Sanders is the worst at 'self evaluation.' He has been given his last two jobs and no one likes him. He could barely win his last race in Jackson County against a nobody but is delusional to think he could run statewide.

Sanders has no base of support, no one willing to give him money, and he is the least trusted and least respected politician out there. This is just this guy trying to stoke his ego so people will talk about him. Did I say delusional? The guy was saying with a straight face for a while that he was running for mayor of KC when he lived in Independence just so the Star would write about him. And did anyone see him on Ruckus? What a joke.

A state wide run will bring out all his demons like cupcake Calvin. But the good news he can run funded with his County paycheck and if he loses he still has the paycheck. What a world.

Given that I don't have a visual of Sanders in his mind, well that was the first pix I'd seen of him.
Kinda like a sixties rock artist. If ya never saw a pix, you have no idea what they look like. So glad Time warner's selling old sixties rock and roll. Half those guys, I'd never recognize cuz I never saw em in concert or their albums never showed their faces!
This is why most journalists show pix of those they're talking about. Just not Tony. Guess he figures his regulars already know.
Too bad for him! His audience is all insiders. Me, I'm not. I like thumbnails. But he doesnt' write for ME! Contrats to those who've sent him some pix.
He's a lazy guy, he will run what he's got. He doesn't think much beyond that. So smart politicos will send him fairly small but reasonably attractive thumbnails, and he'll probably run them.
Not too big, boys and girls. Like I said, he's not into layout. so make em 300-400 x something. or smaller. Unless you're drop dead gorgeous. Label them your name, like jonesformal, jonessmile, jonesserious, jonescampaign, jonesparty, jonesgiving, etc. Make it easy on the guy to pick the pix he needs without even LOOKING at it. All same size, just the expression you want to use for a given story.
He'll probably accommodate you if you have a variety of expressions to give him and they're fairly easy for him to choose.
but if his pix of you in his file SUCK, well for certain, send him some better ones!!!!!! Title them easy for him, he's a busy guy! Put another way, better for YOU to offer him pix than for him to stick wwith the sad shit he's already got!!
Same true with all other bloggers who do politics. Send them file photos! And no, don't make them all BEAUTY shots, make them news shots!

Well. The first thing to do if you suggest no one likes Sanders and he has no support... is to NOT SAY the phrase "Sanders' PEOPLE".

Other than out in Lone Jack, I doubt anyone would recognize the guy outside the downtown and Independence court houses, right?

Speaking of tipping while I'm rambling. I tip 20 percent for good service on a check under $40. Ten percent on a check over that (because I'm retired now and income's not so good), but I tip flat $4 for any check under $20, five dollars if I hold up their table too long drinking coffee.
My view is that smokers should tip twice as much because they don't ever seem to leave, costing the server both in coffee refills and lost revenue.
There should be a rule that no one be allowed to after-dinner smoke during the dinner hour when the lobby's full of people there standing with whiny kids to actually PAY to EAT!
