TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! SETTLEMENT DISCUSSIONS UNDERWAY IN SHAWN PIERCE LAWSUIT AGAINST KANSAS CITY, MAYOR FUNKY AND GLORIA SQUITIRO!!!
A former Assistant who claims he was fired for his support of Ruth Bates -- A Former Mayoral employee who also successfully sued over the use of a racial slur "Mammy", wrongful termination and reprisal -- is making progress in his current lawsuit against Kansas City, Mayor Mark Funkhouser and his wife Gloria Squitiro.
THE MOST KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS TELL US THAT THE CITY COUNCIL IS NOW DISCUSSING SETTLEMENT OPTIONS WITH SHAWN PIERCE - A FORMER ASSISTANT TO MAYOR FUNKHOUSER !!!
Around election time, this would pretty much be (another) death blow to Mayor Funky's candidacy.
But let's not assume that Pierce can't win . . . The Shawn Pierce lawsuit basically piggybacks off "Mammygate" and the depositions in that trial were simply too damaging for Kansas City to realistically expect a win.
Pierce doesn't have the money for any legal discovery but I'm sure he can put up enough spare change to make some photo copies and demonstrate a reckless, nasty and discriminatory pattern of behavior by Gloria Squitiro in the Mayor's office.
Remember that a friendly jury in Jackson County Jury could easily award him a payday that could BREAK Kansas City's finances.
So, paying him to go away isn't a horrible option given that Pierce has been persistent and has yet surrender his claims regarding Squitiro misdeeds.
Once again Kansas City could be forced to pay for Mayor's horrible judgment and Gloria Squitiro's big feet. The worst part is that Mayor Funky has promised even more of Squitiro should he be elected to a second term.

The current administration has no idea how to run a professional office. Glo's decissions are po-dunk, un-educated and a huge liability to the city.

There is a proper way in the corporate (real) world of terminating an employee. Action plans, expectations,job description, peer supervision,mentoring, training with expectations and time lines for improvement. Im sure all of this was done with the proper documentation with Glo in charge. Settle, fast.

Funkhouser will not be re-elected. It is very simple he is a bad man and even worse Mayor. People are not so stupid to vote this foolishness back into office. He and his wife are playing the re-election game with themselves. No one else is participating.
ReplyDeleteI voted for him last time, but when he lied to me to my face, I lost all respect. He's worse than anyone understands, and is a terrible liabilityto this city. We need leadership--new leadership from a positive, optimistic and SMART person with no baggage.
