TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! THE RACE IS ON TO CONNECT DEB HERMANN TO MAYOR FUNKY FAIL AND BRING THEM BOTH DOWN!!!

I still contend that up to this point Council Lady Deb Hermann is the front runner in the race for Mayor.

To wit, she's now a target along with Mayor Funky's name recognition.

I've heard a lot of strategy from different campaigns and a great many good people have simply been very forthright with me regarding the current KC Mayoral tactics and trends  . . .

To wit . . .

THERE IS A CONCENTRATED EFFORT TO CONNECT DEB HERMANN WITH MAYOR FUNKY IN ORDER TO SINK BOTH OF THEIR MAYORAL AMBITIONS!!!

In a lot of ways it makes sense.

Hermann supported and plotted in the divisive coup against City Manager Wayne Cauthen. Now, nobody is crying for Cauthen but it was a Funky move that left a great many people feeling out of the loop in both the KC business community AND the African-American Community.

Hermann's redistricting moves were contradictory and geared toward keeping the Northland happy much like Mayor Funky.

Despite her financial prowess on display now . . . Hermann and Mayor Funky started the current MAST Mess with their initial vote.

But these are just TKC observations. This is more important:

MAYORAL CANDIDATE JIM ROWLAND IS MAKING A CONNECTION BETWEEN E-TAX DANGER, DEB HERMANN AND MAYOR FUNKY IN HIS BATTLE FOR KANSAS CITY MAYOR!!!

Check it his latest newsletter. The emphasis is mine:

Kansas City Mayoral Candidate Jim Rowland On The E-Tax And The Leadership Of Mayor Funky And Deb Hermann:

Dear Tony,

Kansas City is facing a financial crisis if the Earnings Tax is repealed at next April. It is shocking that within the city limits of Kansas City voters on Tuesday approved Proposition A to mandate that election.

The failure of leadership by both Mayor Mark Funkhouser and Councilwoman Deb Hermann can best be summed up when the KC Star reported that Ms. Hermann said people are not as informed as they need to be on how crucial the earnings tax is to the city's budget.

This week it's crucial but six weeks ago it wasn't so crucial when Ms. Hermann and the mayor voted to give away $1.5 million of the Earnings Tax to a business?

Where have they been? If voters were not informed, then they failed to inform them. If voters were informed and still voted to seek the repeal of the Earnings Tax, then it is a sad comment on their lack of faith in the mayor and Ms. Hermann to deal effectively with their tax dollars.

Fortunately, the election on the retention of the E-tax is not until early April, two weeks after we elect a new mayor on March 22. I believe that the only chance we have to avert a fiscal crisis is to elect a new mayor not tied to the dysfunction, distraction and failures of the last 4 years in whom the public has no faith.

Funkhouser and Hermann cannot restore the public's confidence in city government. I have a proven, public record of collaboration, cooperation and leadership. I am asking for your support and your vote.

So I guess the question regarding this hot mess is twofold: Is this Funky Connection fair to Deb Hermann as a candidate in her own right? And regardless of that: How does Deb Hermann fight this rather obvious association?

Comments

  1. That's ugly.

  2. you must mean deb. hahahahahahaha!

  3. Here's another example of solidarity between Hermann and Funkhouser that went largely unnoticed or challenged by anyone....They both had in their possession information that proved that on the H&R Block TIF project, millions of unjustified dollars were reimbursed to the contractor and developer, yet they did nothing to stop it. They need to be held accountable for this. Question is, will any mayoral candidate "man up" to demand an explanation or are corporate giveaway coffers like this considered a perk to the successful candidates?

  4. Hate to say it, but Rowland is right. Where have they (funkhouser and Hermann) been regarding the E tax? Lack of political skill and will? Are they too busy running for office to do the jobs they currently hold? The mayor and the finance chair should be front and center. Both claim to know our city budget intimately. They should be able to speak to residents about the importance of the E tax or offer alternative revenue sources.

  5. Hermann is just a female version of Funk.

  6. Look what happened tuesday no current city politician will be Mayor.Sorry Deb.

  7. Hash the MAST winning powerball issue die?

    ReplyDelete
  8. At least Funk has a college degree. Deb is an incumbent just like Funk. What is her message, "I am not as bad as the Mayor"? We have a mess in our City and they are all responsible. A new start demands a new person.

  9. Anybody else up for a caption contest?

    "That was a wet one"

  10. Rowland doesn't want people looking at his failures...but be assured they will.

  11. Sounds to me like Rowlands's trying to sink two ships with one shot.

And Tony's swallowing the whole banana! Is Karl Rove running the Rowland campaign from behind the scenes?

Now he's got all of YOU wondering and grumbling. Sounds very much to me like how the Republicans, after derailing the economy just two years ago, have managed to sneak back into the hen house and the chickens were too scared to do anything about it. Not new. But pretty shrewd!

Somebody's got to sidetrack the two front runners if he has a chance in hell of winning the Mayor's two parking garage places downtown!

  12. Jim Rowland is one tall mean man. But, he nailed the current council and mayor. His meaness just shines through, that is his only charm. I am done with plain mean. No Jim Rowland, funkhouser or Hermann.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Radio man you dolt. Steve Glorioso is running Rowland's campaign. Tony blogged that months ago. Do you even think about the stuff you write?

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is not fair to compare Funky with Hermann. The Mayor has a degree.

    ReplyDelete
  15. A degree in what? STUPID FUCK UP

    ReplyDelete
  16. Funkhouser is Hermann? Hermann is Funkhouser? Hermann's a MAN!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. How does Deb fight the association as a Funk supporter? Rather easily, I'd say.

    1. She has produced balanced budgets, Funk has not.

    2. She has provided leadership in budget matters, Funk has not.

    3. She opposes MAST pension grab, Funk does not.

    ]That's three major points.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If Jim Rowland is actually writing to Tony and has nothing more to offer than piddly inside baseball accusations about Funkhouser and Deb, his campaign is in much worse shape than anyone has imagined.
    Ideas, anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  19. The rest of the city council is just as much to blame for the city's mess. Sharp, Circo, Ford, Curls, Sanders-Brooks, they all must go.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wow. Another mayoral candidate (Rowland) who's main campaign issue is "I'm not them and I oppose everything they do." Here's an idea Jimbo, instead of whining, how about you have some solutions?

Oh wait, politics is just about screaming "I'm better than them even though I'm not very good".

Tuesday's election results speak to that. The party of I'm Not Them wins over the party of I'm Not Them (2008 version).

  21. Look at Deb's dog face, which says "I was too stupid for school" all over it.

And why doesn't she run as an out lesbian like Jolie?

Must be hell to be ugly, stupid and ashamed of who you are Deb.

The LGBT Community should not put up with Deb hiding in the closet.

Out and proud or go home Deb.

  22. See what education has wrought?

  23. Yes, 7:02 AM is the nasty Funky Group. Kansas City you can do better than this Man. He is not what we need or want in a mayor.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rather than just continually making the assertion that Deb is the "front runner", why don't you tell us why you think that T?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rowland is the brilliant guy who decimated the City's fund balance when he was on Finance and Audit. Deb has balanced the budget for three years and built up the fund balance, in spite of Funky's hare-brained schemes. Glorioso and Gray are obviously nervous, hence the stupid personal attacks that make no sense. Deb and Funk are hardly aligned and it's easy to tell.

As for Rowland's "proven record of collaberation, cooperation and leadership" well, let's ask Bonnie Sue how cooperative he was being when he charged her during a council meeting after she called him "Sonny." Rowland is a stupid hot-head with low funds and less credibility. He's as mean as Funk and not nearly as smart as Deb. He'll bring Glorioso in to run the City... again, which we cannot afford.

Say no to nasty incompetence... say no to Rowland.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Deb Hermann smells like 10 packs of cigs and 25 cats.

    ReplyDelete
  27. All of these Burke and Rowland supporters with their low blow personal attacks are showing their desperation.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Desperate is right 3:06. Burke can't fundraise and neither is Rowland. Both are scared to death, and neither one will carry the Northland. Deb is the frontrunner and they know it.
