Last night I witnessed all the drama of the instant Robert Rodriguez classic Machete. The movie not only provided an answer to Tea Party rhetoric but a response irrational border hysteria touted by d-bags.
While this week in Kansas City politics wasn't as powerful, it was no less captivating.
Check it:
POLITICOS
1. Meg Conger - Her resignation as Parks & Rec Commissioner sent shock waves through local political circles and signals a new era in this town with the coming election.
2. Chris Byrd - The Northland Legal Power Player put all of Kansas City on notice about the voting rights on the other side of the river.
3. Steve Glorioso - Like it or not, he has more access to votes on the Council than any of the other member of the Redistricting Panel. So far, he has been one of the most powerful forces in redistricting.
4. Tracy Ward - This grassroots candidate for the 6th District At-Large is quickly making a name for herself at local community meetings.
5. John Rizzo - A look at the Royster affidavits didn't offer any first hand complaints of voter disenfranchisement and the general consensus among local politicos is that these alleged "voter irregularities" aren't enough to overturn an election. Already Rizzo is making connections among his fellow House Rep. and other Kansas City politicos.
NEWSIES
1. The Gregory Brothers - The Internet is the perfect place to sing and dance to local violence.
2. The Local Show - An upstart KCPT effort to provide even more local content is a great move.
3. Saundra Olivas - Host of ¿Qué pasa KC? this local newsie makes KC content just a tad more unique.
4. Eric Wesson - The KC Call has been publishing some of the most important stories in Kansas City this summer. This local reporter is the reason why.
5. Kris Ketz - 25 years of TV News in Kansas City and now, also available on Twitter.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND FESTIVALS
1. Irish Fest - Everybody in this town is Irish, again.
2. Santa-Cali-Gon Days - Eastern Jack goodness.
3. Ren Fest - Big Ladies and their cleavage coupled with bad accents.
4. Show Me State Rodeo in Kansas City - A rodeo hosted by the local LGBT Community deserves a lot of recognition that it sadly didn't get in the mainstream media.
5. Machete - Maybe the most important movie of the year. Go see it!!!

ReplyDelete1- Meg Conger, Steve Glorioso and John Rizzo are all Tony's Kansas City Tipsters.
2- John Rizzo is actually paying Tony's Kansas City not just to post anything to give the guy a less corrupt name, but to rub his ballsack while he rubs someone else's.
From a lawyer's point of view, I would be curious to know how TKC received those affidavits as most affidavits are protected by a court ordered Protective Order. That could spell big legal trouble for John Rizzo.

Steve Glorioso posts here some times but he's really just manipulating Tony with information he wants. And Tony supported John Rizzo in the election.

Actually in one of the stories that she tell about her up bringing and hardships she tells how she lost him around the divorce from the first husband.
