Today, BlogKC posts a FANTASTIC comparison between the two Council Realignment maps in KC Proper. Unfortunately, EVERYONE has a sneaking suspicion that the Council is going to come up with their own map that doesn't look much like what the Committee is showing us so far.

So the maps are different. The question is WHY are they different? Which map does the Jim Rowland/Pat Gray/Steve Gloriso cartel want and WHY? Which map does each minority group want and WHY? Which map does the Northland want and WHY?
ReplyDeleteTruth is, no one really cares except for the ones with self-annointed egos.
Bottom Line: The Council will make their own map.

ReplyDeleteAnd for the good of the City as a whole, it makes sense that all of Downtown should be in the same district
Is the Downtown community (not just businesses, but the thousands of new residents) paying attention to these alternatives? They certainly should.
Why should all of Downtown be in the same district? Doesn't Downtown really belong to ALL of the districts? Obviously, the people that live there need to be represented but I can see a big advantage to Downtown having more than one council district when it comes time to apportion capital improvement dollars.
