While Will Royster seems like a very nice guy in public, without question the stress of an election can get to ANYBODY.
Especially a very CLOSE ELECTION THAT ROYSTER LOST BY ONLY 6 VOTES!!!
Already today we have talked about fallout from his campaign, some hurt feelings and jobs lost.
Sadly, the pressure might be getting to Will given that . . .
FOLKS AT THE KANSAS CITY ELECTION BOARD WERE A BIT FREAKED OUT BY SOME YELLING AND THREATS OF LEGAL ACTION FROM WILL ROYSTER TODAY!!!
Word of the run-in circulated fast and hit this blog in the afternoon. For the record, some followup calls confirm that the meeting regarding the recount ended hospitably with Royster clam and in control after his concerns regarding the ballots were answered.
Still, the election is HIGHLY UNLIKELY to be overturned and another count should come quickly and settle the issue once and for all.
Real Talk: With such a close election nobody can blame Royster for blowing off some steam even if it does speak to the fact that J.J. Rizzo was the best choice for the office.
Will could win this thing next time out if he keeps his cool.

Another lawsuit will only reinforce the effective mailer claiming Royster has at least ten lawsuits piled up against people like Mayor Funkhouser, Police Chief Corwin, and The Country Club Plaza. He's got another shot in two years. Six votes is nothing; Rizzo had plenty of that.

ReplyDeleteOkay, I kept nearly all of my mailers and I just sorted through them. Here's the tally, and keep in mind that this isn't an OFFICIAL number, just what I received in the mail and didn't misplace.
ReplyDeleteRoyster sent out 9 positive mailers, 3 negative mailers, and one mailer defending a negative attack from Rizzo. Of the positive, 2 had images of Royster in the military, 2 has an image of dad with President Truman. 2 others targeted payday loans and we all know that Royster alluded that Rizzo's family owns one, so those could almost be considered "neutral".
I've heard about a negative one where Rizzo's head was photoshopped onto the body of a baby. I didn't count this in my total because I haven't seen it. If anyone has this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me, because I'd like to verify it exists.
Rizzo sent out 4 positive mailers and 5 negative mailers, and 2 mailers defending claims that his family owns a title loans business.
4 of the 5 negative mailers had the image of Royster hunting in Wisconnsin that TKC likes to use. Each one was larger and more distorted than the last.
A friend of mine voted for Rizzo and claims it was because he didn't like all of Royster's negative mailers. He is the only person I know who claims to have received the photoshopped head on the baby body mailer, but he threw it away already.
He should have hired Brendan Rhyne.

ReplyDeleteWill's campaign manager Chris Moreno's former-partner named Chris Benjamin did Crystal Williams's attack mailings on the QT. They also worked for Terry Riley though this same closeted relationship.
ReplyDeleteIf Crystal does not disclose this relationship accurately on her campaign forms, she will face huge fines and possible imprisonment.
Looks like mark bryant's ex-wife told the rizzo camp who like everything else called tony and tony printed without confirmation.

Has anyone else noticed that these posts aren't getting nearly as much attention as they were before? The idiotic comments with no basis have completely stoppped. Guess the Serrone crew picked up, and headed off to Vegas with JJ.
