TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY STATE REPS TALBOY AND SILVEY TRAVELING FOR MISSOURI CHINA TRADE HUB!!!

While so many reactionaries and Midwest dimwits want to put up a Great Wall along the borders of the U.S., during this Great Recession all of the smart politicos are working on efforts to increase trade and revenue coming into Missouri.

For months there's been talk of a China Trade Hub in STL. Now those plans are moving quickly and Missouri elected officials are visiting China to work on a deal.

Senator Claire McCaskill is headed to China to talk trade along with Senator Kit Bond.

EVEN BETTER, KANSAS CITY WILL HAVE SOME LOCAL REPRESENTATION ON THE TRIP!!!

Unreported so far, Kansas City's Downtown Missouri State Rep. Mike Talboy along with Northland Missouri State Rep. Ryan Silvey will be on the voyage to Shanghai and Beijing.

Why is this better than just a junket? Because there are solid plans for a trade hub. The Kansas City connection: With China using STL as a Midwest trade hub, that puts Kansas City and all of our resources as a logical connection to South America.

TKC is happy to break this kind of news because once again it demonstrates that trade, increased revenue and money are far more important than so much fear of brown people and petty, mostly misinformed talk of borders.

  3. No, Tony, you are interested in breaking this kind of news because Talboy is one of your gossip leaks, and you want to soften his taxpayer boondoggle against well-deserved criticism. No wonder you can't make it as a real journalist.

  8. Trade hub? You mean more IMPORTS from China into the US and more of our jobs going to China? I know that's NOT what you said, but that IS the reality of what these goons have planned -- including Claire and RINO Kit.

  9. Wow, that sounds like shit they used to say 10 years ago BEFORE both Republicans and Democrats gave China the status as preferred trading partner.

    Please do some research.

  10. Why would Kansas City be the logical connection to South America? China is already exporting to South America and using their capitals as hubs because it is much less expensive. Salaries 20% of the cost they would be here. Import costs would be next to nothing in comparison to what they are here.

  11. If you like them it is a worthwhile endeavor. If you hate them it is a junket. That's why people can't believe reporting.

I would like attendance records for our city council. I should ask for % of meetings canceled by them. Don't they ever work? Never remember so much cancelation. Trying to run a business here a-holes.

  12. How about a list of who went where and who paid? Lot's of travel time probably explains meetings canceled 2:25
