MUST SEE: KANSAS CITY BLOGGER MAY DANCES AFTER GETTING MUGGED!!!

Kansas City is currently caught in a downward spiral of crime and violence and I see very little leadership from elected officials on this front.

By now, regular readers of TKC know that May is my favorite local blogger. Sadly, she recently had a near deadly altercation, was mugged and lived to blog the details.

"The next thing I know the tallest guy has run around in front of me and is pointing a shiny semi-automatic pistol at my chest. Many things crossed my mind like "Guns look bigger on TV shows" and "I bet I could live through being shot by that" and "What the fuck?! Is this guy seriously trying to rob ME?! One of the poorest ppl I know?!?""

In the aftermath, May produced a Youtube vid to document a bit of an interpretive dance response to her mugging. May's dancing response is quite awesome . . . And captivating as well.

BE NICE IN THE COMMENTS . . . Because most you d-bags wouldn't be that creative after getting mugged and would only resort to anonymous, racist ranting.

Whereas I think May's response to Kansas City's Summer Crime wave is inspiring to say the least . . .

Okay, little sister, keep your eyes OPEN! Nice way to shake off the shit, but KEEP your eyes OPEN!
Oh Fuck, now that I clicked on this video and you made me smile I will worry about you.

Nice way to handle a bad situation.
    Good for her.

  5. I <3 May. Be careful out there, girl. ;)

  6. That neighborhood behind Walgreen's at 39th and Broadway has gotten damned dangerous lately. A few weeks ago, some poor dude was shot to death on his porch during a robbery in the same area. The thugs who killed him were never caught. May, be extra cautious when you're outside!

  7. May is great, and I'm glad she's fine. It's easy to get down about some of the negativity that comes from blogging, but you do get to meet some wonderful, impressive people who you might not otherwise encounter.

    Great post, Tony.

  8. This crap is why people are leaving New Jack City and heading for the 'burbs. Maybe it's worth the extra rent ya have to pay to live elsewhere!

Why the hell are we spending good money to replace the I-29 bridge?

  9. Crime is like a disease if left untreated it just spreads.

  10. maybe if she gets raped she'll write a fucking opera.

  11. Who the hell gets mugged in Kansas City? Seriously. Crime is out of control here and to the point that they know they have the police on the ropes.

Keep on Keepin' On May. Glad you are alright.

  12. I have an idea to catch muggers. You have a wallet at all times that acts as a decoy with 20 bucks in it but inside the wallet you put a gps tracking device in it. When you call the police, you log into your computer or phone and you know excately where the muggers are. If they just throw the wallet out you could just put the tracker on the bills themself.

Have you ever had a gun pointed at you? Have you ever been raped? Shut up, bitch!

How about a nice coil of det cord & remote detonator instead? Cut a few of these bastards in two, right in front of their friends, if you want to deter crime.

  15. May has a classy attitude.

Thanks for sharing this link, Tony.

  16. Lots of people get mugged. I saw a g uy get the shit beat out of him on a street in NYC, blocks from Columbia University. Bloodied. They didn't get the groceries because my son in law tried to run the mugger down with his car and so the guy ran.

Sorry, Tee, I know you're very fond of May and taken to superlatives on behalf of those you like. But that video was amateur and uninspiring. And really made no statement at all.

Y'all need to get out more. A mugging without bodily harm just isn't much given the experience of so many humans. Being in an injury accident is more traumatic. Hell, a colonoscopy is more traumatic!

Don't feel sorry for her, Argentina, she's got a great story to embellish for the rest of her life and I think it only showed her how fragile she is.

Too bad everyone doesn't have to do military service and go overseas. Or get nailed in a riot. Or thrown against a car and have handcuffs slapped on. Or get jumped in high school by some bully. Or bitten by a pit bull. Or thrown off a horse. Or get stung by a wasp. Get my drift?

And you said that was "MUST SEE?" OMG, Tee. Reality check for you, or are you hoping to ask her out?

  22. I wonder how many times Tony jacked off to this?

    ReplyDelete
  23. And you have been raped Byron? Yeah, exactly.

    ReplyDelete
  24. When I lost my job, I stood on my head for the camera.

Why do we care about this person?

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1) I try to care about everyone, even May's Muggers. How did they come to this?

    2) I was trying to remind the young man (assumption) that ANYONE can be raped, & its a horrible thing to be flippant about.

    3) I didn't watch the video, but read the post in her blog. She & her mate are lucky to be alive. A "Canto Alla Vito" is good.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Good for her. Maybe we could have classes in the Inner City to teach other crime victims how to the tango.

  27. 1) I try to care about everyone, even May's Muggers. How did they come to this?

It's something to wonder about, for sure. But in the meantime, I hope their next victims shoot and kill them.

  28. 9:22 Byron, Sociopaths don't deserve nor do they appreciate anyone's care or concern. It's too late for them. If that heart of yours has got to bleed some, bleed for the victims of these shit balls. Bleed for those like Lance Rutter, John Garcia and their grieving loved ones. Better yet, let your wallet bleed out some cash to the families of the victims so they can give their loved ones a decent burial and also put up a substantial reward offering so someone will snitch on these worthless predators. I for one, am glad May didn't end up a lifeless corpse on a coroner's slab like Lance, John and many others.

  29. 11:09- well said. And I'm with the guy who suggested det cord in the decoy wallets. Oh, but then the criminal would be the victim and sue... or his family would 'cause hopefully he'd be in two or more pieces.
And will someone PLEASE put Radioman back on the proper meds...

  30. The bottom line is crime and violence in Kansas City have reach far and beyond acceptable.
I'm glad to hear no one was hurt.
It's unfortunate that Kansas City has deteriorated to this level.

  31. Sorry bout what happened. Love to see that big old rump moving around in the video.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I bet Mark raped Byron when they were kids.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well clearly, Byron isn't as tricky as Mark is, fer sure. Byron's such a bleeding heart, somehow I guess he didn't get nailed for the military draft.

I think a stint in the military is good for everyone. Makes us WAY less fragile and I like self-assured people.

Not sure why one of my best detractors thinks everytime I talk, it's because of a lack of good drugs. I've HAD good drugs. I just wasn't sure what's up with May and Tony.

Especially May. I think she was trying to show everyone how much testosterone she's got in her. Ya know, small gun etc? I think we already knew that about her, one of the things to love.

Maybe the problem is that she DOES have a lot of macho in her and the rest of us, want to pet her and put her back in the girls box and feel sorry for her. Well that's YOU guys.

She'd have made a fine Marine, I bet and I bet she stops off at Dicks Sporting Goods and picks up a little something so that doens't happen again! Heh heh! Dunno about the dancing, that's so 'little girl' and seems so fragile. I bet she's tougher than that, now that I think about it.

No need to give her a big brother hug. Next time, she'll be ready, what do ya bet? Still, I'm glad she turned out okay but I don't think muggers have murder in mind, they be too chicken shit, jumping people all alone, needing all that advantage and a gun besides!

Lazy way of making a living, catching folks by surprise for their pocket change. I'd think concealed carry would solve that! And I bet May would fire 'expert' with just a little practice! Go girl!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I really like the way May swings that big ass of hers around in this video.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why would I resort to racist rantings? I have nothing against redheaded white girls.

    ReplyDelete
  36. She's doing the dance of life! Showing us we must celebrate and dance as often as we can because it's fragile and short. It can end in the next minute or go on until we're too old and feeble to care.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Radioman are we and you seriously going to just ignore the fact that she got mugged by saying "Ohh everyone gets mugged." and by comparing Kansas City crime to New York City crime?

We are comparing a city of 600,000 people to one of 12,000,000 as the basis for accepting high crime?

I bet there is more crime per capita in the KC Metro limits than in most of the world's most dangerous cities. I've been to a lot of cities around the world and I honestly feel safer in some than in KC metro limits. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think Anon 9/1/10 9:10 PM has it exactly right, as far as May's dancing goes. It doesn't matter what we think about it, what matters is that she did it. Also, I enjoyed Toadstool_Watchers comments very much. Good advice: keep your eyes & your wits about you.

Some people forget that I don't have to compensate for being short.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I didn't say "everyone gets mugged." I said "Lots of people get mugged."

And I thought Tony's rewrite seemed pretty dumb:

In the aftermath, May produced a Youtube vid to document a bit of an interpretive dance response to her mugging. May's dancing response is quite awesome . . . And captivating as well.

I had no problem with her post. It was good. Vastly better than Tony's, which seemed absurd. "Near deadly altercation", I think he said.

He should have just linked to hers rather than make a feeble attempt to improve on it. He didn't.

She built up to the dance, put drama in her storytell and it unfolded nicely. She didn't sensationalize it.

He put himself in the story and he wasn't a part of it. Who cares whether there's elected official leadership. He put the dance before the crime, which was ass backwards.

If it was a couple pieces of toast he was cooking, he burned it. That's pretty hard to do but Tee manages frequently.

Actually I hadn't read her account until just now. He didn't do her, or her piece justice. I've come to realize my comments had to do with HIS writing, not HERS.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The dance of life, huh? It would be better if she stripped.
