The spotlight is firmly focused on City Attorney Galen Beaufort and recent controversy seems to be creating quite a stir. Here's the latest headline:
KC city attorney confirmed he handled additional private legal cases
Think about this: The guy has 13 bosses going into an election cycle who have already been talking about "ethics reform" (heh) and as recent TKC comments have demonstrated . . . Dude has A LOT of enemies.
So the clock might be ticking on his City Hall tenure.

He will "retire" before the Missouri Supreme Court decides the Melissa Howard case.

Beaufort is a consistent screw-up when it comes to the critical advice he's given City Council.

Then he lies about how many times he's done private work on City time -- AFTER he demanded that underlings be FIRED for doing the same thing.

ReplyDeleteHere's the deal... Council will overreact to clean up their image. They will put into place draconian measures for ALL CITY HALL STAFF regarding moonlighting. So the poor front line worker will have to go through more shit just to make up for their low pay. But upper management will continue to act as if THEY are being imposed upon. Galen Beaufort takes home $180,000 a year but the average dudes making $30,000 are the ones who will pay for Galen's (ahem) indiscretion.
That is why Galen Beaufort is a bastard. Not a blasted bastard like the idiot mayor, but a bastard none the less.
