Wisdom and guidance on this week's letter from The Co-Mayors:
"Isn't that letter maddening? The man appointed a guy to the Ethics Commission AFTER he gave him a big donation!"
Funk's Front Porch

Dear Folks,
This Week's City Business
As a former City Auditor, the Mayor is a firm believer in open and honest government. It's been one of the hallmarks of his administration since being elected in 2007.
For some time, he has been concerned that the public might see a potential for political influence in the appointment of members to the Municipal Officials and Officers Ethics Commission. Members of the panel, which investigates complaints about the conduct of city officials, are appointed by the Mayor.
To avoid even the potential for a perception that the panel could be subject to political influence, the Mayor has decided to appoint an independent panel of three to five community leaders to recommend new members for the ethics commission.
The panel will seek and accept applications, vet candidates and make up to three recommendations to the Mayor for each open position.
"There is nothing more important than ethics in government, and I believe this decision will help raise the perception among our citizens that their City's government is open, honest and committed to their community," the Mayor said.
The action meshes well with an ordinance approved by the Council Thursday, which the Mayor supported. The ordinance prohibits ethics commission members from actively supporting local political candidates while they serve on the commission.
The Mayor is continuing his efforts to help the Kansas City Police Department hire more police officers to patrol Kansas City neighborhoods.
The Mayor and Council members Melba Curls, Ed Ford, Beth Gottstein, Terry Riley and John Sharp introduced a resolution Thursday asking voters in November to renew the Public Safety Sales Tax and use part of the tax to hire additional police officers.
Adding more police to the streets has been one of the Mayor's top priorities. The Mayor and Council successfully convinced the Missouri General Assembly to pass legislation that would allow the city to ask voters for permission to use a small part of the tax, which was established for public safety capital improvements, to hire more police.
The resolution was sent to the Council's Public Safety and Neighborhood Committee, and could be discussed in that meeting as early as next week.
But the Mayor is firm on two points.
Kansas City needs more police officers to patrol city neighborhoods. And the Public Safety Sales Tax is the best way to get those officers hired and working for you on the streets.
"Kansas City Police Department officers are dispatched to nearly 400,000 calls each year, and spend approximately 79 percent of their time running from call to call, a much higher percentage than in many other cities," the resolution introduced Thursday stated.
On a More Personal Note
Funk has been holding town hall meetings, both in person and via telephone, ever since he took office. Those meetings are a good way to get to know Funk in person, learn about how your city government works, and to express your opinion. If you haven't been to one in a while, please look at the list below and try to attend one in your neighborhood soon.
In faith,
Gloria & Mark

funk'd, aka the Big Whoop, loses again. He appoints the members. He dragged his feet on getting a full board. He screwed up again.
ReplyDeleteLies and more lies do not work for a person with zero credibility.
On a personal note. squit is pleased with her new undergarment. She likes the way it sort of tames her bulges. Only, shit, it is hard to wear the thing in this heat!!!
Have A Blessed Day,

His priorities should include orthodontia, wearing shirts that actually fit, orthodontia for wife, therapy for wife's addiction to power, writing lessons for wife, public speaking lessons--he does it a lot, but he's terrible at it(poor saliva control, too)....
ReplyDeleteWhere is the 80, thousand Gloria. Who wrote those checks? Was it you and did Dottie lie to cover up for you? Transpernicy my ASS. On a personal note we know you. BITCH
ReplyDeleteAnd the Co-mayors appointee to the ethics commision not only made a campaign contribution to the C0-mayors but also sued the city to keep the Co-mayor on the 29th floor. You talk about conflict.
ReplyDeleteI think they make a nice couple and hope they retain the Mayor's Office for a long time.
ReplyDeletelets see didn't joe miller work no something for co-mayors and wasn't that unethical. What is wrong with that Squid. She just talks out of her big fat ass. It is all lies on top of lies on top of lies. Good God.
ReplyDeleteWhen Mark was a college professor, he dated many of his students, though they were about ten years younger than him. Gloria was one of his students. I know one of them, & she still thinks its great that he would drink with his students at the local pub. ETHICS
ReplyDeleteThin Margin wanted to know why they hate our mother: they were angry that she didn't attend our father's funeral, even though they had been divorced for over twenty years & there was another ex-wife, plus a widow. She didn't think it was appropriate. ETHICS
On the night our father beat up his wife, Mark had me committed to an insane asylum for beating up our father. Mark failed to mention that there was eight years difference between the fights, that our father was in jail for beating up his wife, that our father admitted to hitting me first, & that our father was a rapist. When our mother stole all of my money & then fled the state, the adults at the asylum let me go. He waited until 4:00 AM Saturday to do this so that the A-team wouldn't be on duty.
ETHICS
The B-team was impressed that he was the auditor of Kansas City. Thanks to Mark, it is now almost impossible to commit someone to an insane asylum in West Virginia. If you give this man power, he will abuse it. You would elect Sly James, if he were white. ETHICS
Shut up dumb ass and maybe the lambs will stop screaming.
ReplyDeleteThe C0-mayors are delusional. There perception of reality is flawed and mis-guided.
ReplyDelete7:17 are you saying the C0-mayors make things up?
ReplyDeleteBryon keep taking your meds man.
ReplyDeleteKCPD needs to start showing some results.
ReplyDelete8:48am is Kendrick, Gloria's BITCH.
ReplyDeleteByron may say whatever he wants, to, whomever he wants-nobody may control that except Byron. Byron, yours is a very interesting story to tell-you should consider writing a tell all book. Now would be the perfect time.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is just a brilliant incubator of intelligent discourse, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteOf course if it weren't for the booty shots, nobody would darken the doo.
Byron, YOU ROCK!
ReplyDeleteThank you Byron. Bad family history has a way of repeating if it is not dealt with appropriately, or what the heck, sort of inappropriately. I hope that you were able to stop the circle of violence and abuse in your own life.
ReplyDeleteMark must man up on his own. He may never find the cajones to accomplish that feat.
Byron, you make good points, but one... we will not elect Sly James and it is not because of his race. It is because he is ill-informed on City issues, has no experience and has sued the city numerous times for his ambulance chasing.
ReplyDeleteByron made a good point on ethics but we just don't know what it is. One day it will be clear to us what he meant and how it relate to the disfunction of silly-hall. Byron keep scribing someday, someone, somehow will understand your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAnon 3:36 AM - Perhaps you are right about Sly James. I am limited to only knowing what I read online (& not just here.)
ReplyDeleteAnon 12:32 PM - Thank you.
Anon 9:59 AM - You are probably right (or at least close enough that it doesn't matter.) He always spells my name wrong. The co-mayors know I hate to be called 'Bryon'. I don't take medication of any kind for anything. Because I don't see well enough to drive, & I'm too poor to eat steak, my health is pretty good.
Anon 11:11 AM - Thank you, but as you can see, I'm not a very good writer. I think like a chess player, which I think is different than a writer (right brain, left brain, as it were.)
Thin Margin - my closest friends are aware of my actions here & approve of what I am doing. When I read Gloria's comments about ethics it got my dander up!
Anon 5:23 AM - I was trying to show a history of unethical behavior (as witnessed my me.) Mark is too narcissistic to really have an ethical base.
