TKC GUEST BRUTUS HIGHLIGHTS A CRUCIAL JACKSON COUNTY ELECTION FOR EXEC. MIKE SANDERS!!!

Back in the day, this is the kind of analysis would have run in The Star. Sadly, they're trying to keep up with TKC and just straight up pushing their slate. A big shoutout goes to TKC Guest BRUTUS who provides some rather interesting analysis of the August 3rd election aftermath.

Check it:

WHAT THE JAXCO ELECTION REALLY MEANS . . .

Jackson Democrats are all in a twit over some key Legislative races on Tuesday, August 3rd.

TKC has commented on the four contested races.

But what has gone unreported is who and what these races are all about, really.

The outcome could provide a big victory or loss for a candidate who is unopposed, County Executive Mike Sanders.

Sanders has done a masterful job of bringing peace and mostly harmony to a government not known for either especially after the Kathryn Shields' years.

By throwing an occasional biscuit, no bone needed with that Legislature, Sanders keeps them happy and is allowed to basically run on an open field. He can pursue whatever agenda he wants uninhabited by Rizzo, Tarwater, and the boys at the west of the 2nd floor of the downtown courthouse.

Regional jail, no problem. Smashing the greedy school districts who do not like that Sanders correctly lowered homeowners tax assessments, done deal. Coming forward with a possible commuter rail program, just wish away Mr. Sanders. Not a peep from the Legislature.

If all the incumbents get re-elected, then Mike is on an easy path to replace Cleaver in Congress when the Rev retires.

Or run for statewide office if the right opportunity presents itself.

I really don't think Sanders in his heart of hearts will be heart broken if Rizzo loses which is very possible. The most fun spectator sport this summer is whether Louie Wright or Jim Nutter prevails in that race.

Henry is a constant bully who has to be tamed from time to time by Sanders. If Crystal Williams wins then Theresa Garza Ruiz gets a second vote and becomes a player. Actually she and Crystal become a check on the nearly as crazy as Rizzo buddy, Dan Tarwater.

But if Fred Arbanas and Denny Waits also lose, then it is a new world for Sanders. Terry Riley and Curt Dougherty will be competing with Sanders and also heavily indebted to Louie Wright.

And then let the games begin if all three incumbents lose. The firefighters who already represent the Prosecutor's staff will come at Sanders for concessions and then try to defeat their arch enemy, Prosecutor Jim Kanatzar, in 2012. If they knock him out then Sanders has REAL problems in his so far fairy tale march through local politics.

You got Pat Gray running the campaigns of Rizzo, Riley and Dougherty on behalf of his friend, fast Louie. Pat O'Neil is working for Arbanas and Steve Glorioso is assisting Waits. Who knows what will happen.

But on election night, there is only one contest to watch----Sanders vs. Sanders.

  1. Really interesting analysis, better than you get on Prime Buzz with Helling and Kraske. Rizzo is toast if Nutter does spend real money on a third party effort to elect Crystal like he did for the Funk in 2007. He and Pat O'Neil are good at negatives. It isn't like Rizzo does not deserve a little smearing.

Are you people blind to the fact Crystal took 10000 cash for the 2 District seat . Does no one care she has sold Jackson County Government . I dont know either but i hate one person having that kind of influence.

  3. What everyone knows for sure is that the election IS NOT about the residents who live in Jackson County.
Why is all the fighting about a $29K/year job so viscious? Because the stakes are so low!

  4. Brutus = Steve Glorioso = BORING! But at least it's reading material and you don't have to listen to Steve try to talk.

  5. Better watch out this is an EASTER JACKSON COUNTY take over which NO ONE will write about. The Republicans are all moving to Eastern Jack and setting up their machine to control the county.
Dump Mike the mouth and you automatically set back his father in law and the rest of the County Cabal.

  6. The picture with the story tells the real story. The forces which have forged the alliances of the past will merge. The taxpayers will be disenfranchised and perpetuating money interests through through corporate welfare, will control how our tax dollars are spent.

Term limits will only ensure that these huge expenditures for campaign finance. This is our last chance election to change the course of Jackson County Politics.
