TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JOLIE JUSTUS AND LANA TOGETHER AGAIN!!! SORTA!!!

Everybody looks better during Summer except for TKC . . . Even MO State Senator Jolie Justus seems all made up and ready to party. And it turns out she had reason for excitement and celebration.

MO State Sen. Jolie Justus was recently named one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 by The National LGBT Bar Association.

She is joined on the list by her old flame Lana Knedlick, a partner at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP of Kansas City.

A RATHER AWESOME TKC TIPSTER EXPLAINS THE LGBT LEGAL COMMUNITY SITCH!!!

"They were a couple romantically for some time a few years ago. They broke up and then Jolie went on to marry Shonda," according to the rather awesome and well informed source.

Now, for better or worse, in this small cowtown two successful lawyers in this town can't help being paired once again.

Without delving into the torrid past, a recent presser from The ACLU puts a nicer spin on the major recognition in a presser of their own on Facebook. Check it:

Two long-time ACLU volunteers and activists, both from Kansas City, MO, are two of the 40 Best LGBT Lawyers in the USA

Two long-time ACLU volunteers and activists, both from Kansas City, MO, are two of the 40 Best LGBT Lawyers in the USA, according to an affiliate of the American Bar Association, the ABA.

In an announcement on July 22nd, the National LGBT Bar Association of the ABA, announced that Lana Knedlick and Jolie Justus were among their first list of The Top LGBT Lawyers Under 40.

Lana Knedlick, a partner at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP of Kansas City, is co-founder of the ACLU LGBT Rights Task Force and co-author of the ACLU’s LGBT Rights Handbook for Kansas and Missouri. She is also co-founder and President of KC Legal, an organization of LGBT attorneys in metro Kansas City.

Missouri State Senator Jolie Justus is the Director of Pro Bono Services at the Kansas City, MO firm of Shook, Hardy and Bacon LLP. For the last four years, she has served the Kansas City area in the MO state Senate and was the first openly gay member of that body.

“We are very proud to have these dedicated and bright women associated with the ACLU of Kansas and Western Missouri”, said Dan Winter, Executive Director of the ACLU of Kansas and Western Missouri. “Of course, we have known these two were at the top of the heap for a long time. I’m glad the American Bar Association has decided to announce it to the world."

Congratulations Lana and Jolie!

  5. Say what you want, and I don't know the other person, but Senator Justus is the kind of rational voice we need in Jefferson City. Also, her work for the poor is an example of a person of true compassion. She is a keeper.

  6. But can she break up a double play? Lay down a sacrifice bunt?

'... her work for the poor ...'

Sometimes I think that the reason people have an attitude toward the LGBT is that they can see that they are good people, & feel shamed by their example.

  8. ACLU, huh? I'm not impressed.

They don't want to protect the unborn, and now they seem to be working for illegal aliens over U.S. citizens.

  9. Does she play softball?
