Let's start the day with a bit of good news for a change.
Mayor Funky and his wife are nearly out of office and it looks like nobody is coming to save them. Rex Sinquefield doesn't need them for his E-Tax victory and it looks like Mr. Peanut has other interests at the moment.
There's even better news on the way for Kansas City's "First Lady" and her Co-Mayor husband according to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS:
WORD IS THE SHAWN PIERCE LAWSUIT AGAINST KANSAS CITY AND THE CO-MAYORS IS ON THE VERGE OF COLLAPSE!!!
The Pierce lawsuit is based on allegations of retaliation over the former Mayoral Aide "taking sides" during the successful Mammygate legal battle. As of this writing there HAS NOT BEEN ANY SIGNIFICANT DISCOVERY presented in the case and folks are wondering how long the lawyers are going to carry Pierce given that the low level Mayoral employee probably doesn't have a lot of cash for legal fees. Meanwhile, election season is quickly approaching and The City Council is unlikely to make another big settlement over a case that has largely been ignored by the media.
If Pierce has a "trump card" that might generate headlines and more interest in his legal battle, now would be the time to play it.
In the meantime, Co-Mayors Gloria and Mark could finally catch a break that really just coincides with their imminent departure from office.

ReplyDeleteTony, you should lead a campaign against any council member who voted for a settlement. They should have forced Funk into a legal fight to the death. They bought his way out of trouble, and now we are stuck with him. He will make it into the primary, and then he will win the general based on bigotry.

I can't believe he's running for reelection. Is he a masochist? He does not have the media on his side, he's fairly unpopular and he doesnt' have the council on his side. Why is he beating himself up like this?
It's pathetic. I feel guilty talking against him; it's un-chivalrous to attack a guy when he's wounded and down. And the guy is DOWN. What's pathetic is that he does the Don Quixote thing and keeps getting UP when he needs to stay DOWN to end this tragedy!

ReplyDeleteThere is no Democracy in this town or county. The fix is in. Take for example this post that showed up on Facebook that documents that Crystal Williams has a supporter named Susan Hilt COUNTING absentee votes at the Board of Elections!

Thanks to Mahbooba Maqsudi Syed our absentee ballots are on their way to the US! Theresa Garza Ruiz, Crystal Williams and Jolie Justus all have our votes. Now hopefully the ballots will safely reach Susan Hilt!

Susan Hilt is in charge of Absentee ballots at the KC Board of Elections and I know understand that she has a Crystal Williams Yard Sign displayed in her yard.
