Surprise: Rizzo Wins Star Endorsement

Just happened, Star endorses John Joseph Rizzo: "District 40: John Joseph Rizzo has come close to winning this northeast Kansas City seat in previous elections and deserves the Democratic primary nomination for the seat being vacated by John Burnett. A marketing consultant, Rizzo shows a good grasp of issues. His opponent, former pilot Will Royster, has shown a tendency to exaggerate some of his credentials . . . "

No big surprises in any of the other endorsements . . . Any insights on this one are welcome but the thing that stands out to me is that the reasons offered for The Star's endorsement rely mostly on TKC reporting and behind the scenes chatter with ALMOST NO ARTICLES offered to the public regarding the debate between candidates . . . The behind the scenes reasoning is weird but there are a great many eyebrows raised on this one from surprised supporters of Rizzo and critics alike.

Developing . . .

  1. The Star endorses someone because they have been a candidate too many times? Pretty lame.

  2. Chris Moreno your lies just caught up to you .

  9. They are putting a press release out saying the Star has just been taken over by a group of people from Mars.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Will, get your money back!!! Chris Moreno has screwed your entire campaign up.

No Bull Shit he fucked your campaign up and I am pissed, I'm still voting for you but pull him off your campaign now, don't let him destroy election day.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I agree. This is a big lose for Chris and Will.

    ReplyDelete
  12. LOL! Pappy pulling out all the stops now! After seeing that lame excuse for an endorsement I hope that Will Royster guy stomps Henry's boy out.

    ReplyDelete
  13. This was strangely shitty. Does anyone think there should even be an endorsement without even attempting to contact the candidates? Something is strange about an endorsement with no contact with the people you are considering....

  14. The vote that counts7/26/10, 8:55 PM

what will all you sad fucks say when Will wins, and you realize ALL these lame endorsements that only have to do with press and money and creating political influence mean nothing to show which candidate is involved in his community and is more qualified? For all you libs who hate lobbyists, all these endorsement groups simply exist to buy power with candidates. Barb Shelly doesn't like in district and vote.

Have you seen the latest JJ mailer? Was over at a friend's house in Northeast today. He is a MILF's dream come true! That little scrawny boy hasn't done a real day of work in his life, and would be incapable of moving if I hit on him! He is sooo cute! But that Royster candidate could bring the bacon.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Royster would have won that in a walk if not for Chris Moreno's scumbag activity.

Who the Hell would hire Moreno again?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Tony gets punked once more by the Star.

    Good job, Beaner.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I still call Will Royster by 60%. Which says a lot about Johnny Joe Rizzo's candidacy and his "grasp of the issues". Has anyone ever met a candidate who has ran four times in a district and still has zero clue as to what he is talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well I have picked up a few tires one day for good photo shoots! Can you say that?! And, and I run every election, shows commitment! How many times have you run, Will?! And my dad is at the county, so I have good relationships there! And my dad sells repo'ed awesome cars to some important city people and they like him because he can basically give them aware for free to important people because he steals them from all those dumb immigrants! So I am the gooder choice for this position!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I like what Chris has done with the Will Royster campaign! They've really done good work and I think they will win despite this endorsement.

  25. As we speak, thanks to Adam Schieber (Scarritt President and Royster Shill) Royster and Moreno are using the Scarritt email list to spread their bilge. Again Schieber puts the 501c3 of Scarritt in danger to shill for his puppet master Royster.
After this news - I'm surprised there's not a crater at 3500 Gladstone where the house used to be.

This is very interesting. I've watched all the chatter on TKC, as well as the press coverage. Although I was not at any of the three debates Rizzo and Royster had, I did note that, unlike all three previous years' 40th District Debates, no Press covered the any of the debates this year (Northeast News does not count, because of the bias shown against Royster from its publisher). I think the Star will probably give serious thought to a reconsideration of its endorsement.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 9:19 Michael, for a guy who got kicked out of the Presidency of Scarritt for showing up "officially" as President, but ended up trying to sell newspaper ads, you should talk. You always put your paper and your ego ahead of the neighborhood; and when Henry threatened to kick your ass if you didn't support JJ Rizzo, you totally caved in. Coward. At least Will can stand up to the Rizzo gang and fight for the neighborhood - unlike you, who wouldn't know a news story unless someone wrote it for you and paid you to advertise it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The KC Star has done lots of feature news stories on Will Royster, including his service. I'm surprised by the endorsement. Did the Star actually interview the candidates?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sons of Columbus are a 501c3 and have John Rizzo signs all over their property and are passing out Rizzo material. Johnny Joe keep looking in the mirror and telling yourself that you are good enough, smart enough and gosh darnit people like you........And then wipe the blow off of your nose.

Today, I received a forwarded "Press Release" from Chris Moreno on Henry and JJ Rizzo. The Release included links to the documentation claimed by Moreno, against the quoted statements of JJ Rizzo. The fact that dead-tree Press hasn't picked up on this is odd. Check this out:

  33. Adam Schieber7/26/10, 9:52 PM

9:19pm - I believe you are questioning whether I have used my official position as President of Scarritt Neighborhood to hand a over an official neighborhood email list to a campaign? The answer to that is simply no. Even as a private citizen, I have not assisted any campaign with email distribution in any way.

As a private citizen who cares and is involved in his community in many ways, I exercise my first amendment right to free speech (that same amendment that gives freedom of the press, by the way) and do publicly support Will Royster for 40th District. I think based on qualifications and accomplishments, its a no brainer. Ask other who are truly involved in their communities in the Northeast and you will find a similar answer.

  40. Tony, I've read all your stories on Will Royster since you first posted one about two years ago. Blogger "Hip Critic" is one of the toughest bloggers I've ever read, and he liked Royster because of what Royster has done and tried to do to clean up Northeast. You even noted that. It wasn't until Henry and JJ Rizzo opposed Royster's SOAP and SODA City Council initiative that you became opposed to Royster. At that time you called him a racist, and you attacked his family. I've read and followed up on the Press Releases his Campaign has made, and you should have, as well. You are supressing information. Why?

Because! (see my funny name. Its funny because its true. Not that there's anything wrong with that. just be honest and post a pic every once in a while. there are dudes like us on here who get tired and want some man boobage as well.)

  42. The KC Star said something about Will Royster's "Credentials". If this statement was based upon the Dan Tarwater letter on County stationary, or upon the manufactured attack made by "Duke" from GKC AFL-CIO, then the Star was paid off. Tarwater writes extended service contracts on Rizzo's repo cars, and Duke traded endorsements for Prosecutor power and money.

    ReplyDelete

    YUM!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I got an email last night around 6:00 from Moreno "exposing" JJ's connection to TMJJ.

I thought TKC would have received it and blogged about it. I know he's with Rizzo on this, but it's still news worthy.

I was curious where Moreno got my email address. I figured it was from my posts here, but considered the Indian Mound Neighborhood Association log. If Tony DIDN'T get the email, then it was definitely from the neighborhood meeting log.

Anyway, I actually don't have a huge propblem with predatory lending. There needs to be some reform but no one is forcing these people to take loans. I've actually used these places on three occasions when I was in my early 20s to get grocery money because I wasn't willing to accept food stamps. They were a rip off but I used them responsibly.

I think it's odd for our government to crack down on payday loans when we're living on our grandchildren's borrowed money. Let's start from the top down.
