Local Latino Immigration Student Sacrifice

I don't know if I agree with turning undocumented Latino Students into sacrificial lambs for the plight of Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

Because I've seen so many anti-immigrant activists and I know they have no mercy, sympathy or sense of justice. Put simply, the hardcore forces of anti-Latino hate who are the most strident driving force in the persecution of the undocumented are simply Unchristian, immoral and UnAmerican . . . So there is no reason to play upon their sympathies because they have none. However, drawing out virulent racists eager to revile the defenseless, the sick, children and students shows the movement against the undocumented for what it is: Hate-Based . . . Nevertheless, I just can't get on board with using people as cannon fodder no matter how much I admire the bravery of undocumented students putting themselves at risk in the name of The Dream Act.

NBC Action News: "Three metro teens risked deportation at a protest in Washington D.C. They stood up in support of the Dream Act with 20 other undocumented students."

OK, fuck it! Hey Mexico, just send everyone to the USA! We don't need this way of life here. We want to be just like fuckin Mexico - a Third-World fuckin country! Because it the Christian thing to do, right?

    ReplyDelete
  3. 'Mexico' isn't sending anyone to the USA. These are individual choices made by individual people. Yes, these students are being sacrificed, but this, too, is there individual choice. I salute their courage. The Dream Act will pass when Senator Reid is dethroned.

  4. Seems stupid. What courage...? Attention seeking mexicans can go home.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Anon a lot of courage. This isnt a hot dog stand. These students will never get a visa again regardless of the b.s. that Republicans and Democrats alike tell you on this topic. Anyone who actually knows the visa process would have informed them of that.

  8. Tony- you really are missing the boat on this. Seventy percent of us are hate-filled and anti-Latino? Continuing to make this about race, rather than the law, only fuels further confrontations. Lack of sympathy is okay when it's directed toward those who break the law. Hard to believe you support a system that must, of necessity, leave the 'undocumented' subject to abuse, neglect and crime. Methinks securing the borders and reforming the immigration system to provide work visas and making the hiring of illegal immigrants a felony is how we protect ourselves and those who choose to come here to seek opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  9. They are here illegally and they have the gall to protest and then whine that they might be deported. I certainly hope they are deported. In fact, I want to see some head roll in the U.S. government if they ARE NOT deported!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Guys like Tony can take any stand they want. But surely, he's smart enough to know that a stand on such a divided issue will gain him some fans and some enemies.

He's taken the stand. I always figured he was an American-Mexican and had made his life here and was mostly intersted in the white majority, since he's preoccupied in local (white sometimes black local politics.)

But yet he's taken a stand in favor of the illegals, a group pretty unpopular here, given American cultural values.

This is costing him dearly, I expect. And he's thrown his lot in with the BROWNS, not with the Americans.

I suspect the KCMO and JXCO operatives now hold their nose related to TONY himself, and are just using this blog to advance their political wars against the few readers here, the small political insider community.

Maybe Tee has chosen sides, opted to shill for brown, notwithstanding citizenship.

Guess that was his choice. I think it will cost him his blog kingship. Simply because he does this in a predominently WHITE AMERICAN universe.

I still think he threw himself to the wrong side... to the Mexican side and not the American side.

Maybe he forgets how far north of Mexico he actually is!

Imagine if Mexico was NOT Mexico, but was actually Russia! What woudl have happened to him already? Sorry, but I just don't see much in Mexico for us to model ourselves for.

His loyalties are misplaces by race, not culture. That makes him a racist, by definition, doesn't it.

Somebody needs to have a long, serious talk with the guy, IMHO.

  11. I think that these students have been given bad counsil. Yes the chances of them getting deported has been minimized by getting in the public eye but as nfor getting a future Visa I highly doubt it. Their actions were done on Federal property. Those charges don't disappear easily if aty all. Those arrested during the civil rights era knew that if they were arrested the would eventually get out not kicked out of the country.
The mood in this country is not sympathetic to their actions.

  12. How come the only people that are against immigration laws are all Mexican?

Why do they think they are more "special" than any other group of illegals?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Here's the problem with Mexican illegals.

People from Italy or China or Germany have to assimilate. After all, their homelands are a long ways from the U.S.

Mexcans are just next door, and many of them have the feeling that huge chunks of the U.S. really belong to Mexico.

As far as I know, however, Kansas City was NEVER a part of Mexico. So I think we are justified in kicking them out of here.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm not sure why youre shilling for the illegals from Mexico Byron, even if you are marrying a Latino.

Youre from WVA... you should have plenty of American roots and like the cuture. Else you'd have moved to the southwest from TX to the Pacific.

I don't think you understand what the Mexicans are importing. It's THEIR culture, not ours.

As a descendent from 1665 on one hand and 1900 on the other, I'm not interested in having the US turn into a lookalike Mexico. but I have no problem if they blend and just turn the average skin color a little browner. I find Browner attractive. But not the other unhappy byproducts of their culture, including ignorance. And lack of respect for western idealogy.

I don't think you're thinking it out well, Byron but you've already said youre rather anti civilization by your chosen lifestyle, and lets face it, WVA isn't exactly on the vanguard of American society.

So I discount much of what you say, no matter how multi lingualistic you are.

You don't think like most of us do and most of us probably aren't nearly as impressed with your intellect as you are.

I think Mexico IS exporting its poor, just like Castro exported HIS undesireables. Mexico does it by not assuring jobs and by facilitating the northern migration as it does by providing directions and paths, and sometimes even transportation.

I'm sure they work much harder to keep their middle class at home... but will encourage their unskilled to migrate northward where the jobs are.

I think we should go ahead and declare war on Mexico... and start with all the villas where the drug cartels live. And mine the border outside the gates. Make it impossible to sneak over. make it likely fatal.

That will make them want to build their own country rather than come up here and sap our economy with their substandard expectations!

Moreover, I'd rather move our meat packing plants southwards and other certain industries.

Unless we get serious immigration reform, and identification, etc etc. Why don't you support this obviously BEST choice, Byron? Why do you apparently just favor an open border inviting two cultures in the same country... legal citizenship and illegal citizenship?

I suggest to you that promotes a two class society and the class you shill for will be horribly disadvantaged for decades, maybe a century to come... as blacks were!

  15. I don't speak much spanish, and don't appreciate mexicans calling me names in spanish at the price chopper. The majority of illegals in KCK are fine, hardworking people. They don't want any trouble. BUT, whiney, fat, attention seeking YOUNG WOMEN with attitudes are martyr-ing themselves for no reason at all. Its really out of their hands. They just want the press. No one really cares. Pay taxes like the rest of us, get the ability to vote, and then you can B*tch and complain like everyone else.

BY THE WAY, I volunteer with the catholics and they are HUGE on making people LEGAL. The HELP IS THERE. There is no EXCUSE for not getting papers of some sort. Take your tiny little violin and eat it with beans and tortillas. Stop playing dumb illegals, the paperwork isn't that hard.

Also, stop speaking spanish at the price chopper and stop cursing at the clerks in spanish because stuff is too expensive.......not the clerks fault that groceries are cheap in mexico and not in america.........go back to mexico if you want cheap groceries............

I don't know if TONY KC is racist. I think he needs to use more variety in his pictures of objectifying women.

I don't like calling people by color, that seems kind of racist too.

    1) you get to go to college.
    2) It allows the Military..Army..to recruit undocumented for Military Service during a time of war. Afghanistan & Iraq.
3)something must f@#$king @#swipes like Kobach never did..serve in the Military.

I'm married to a Scotch-Irish American. My step-son is seriously involved with a woman of Spanish decent. We already have a class system. Everyone else sees brown people, I see poor people. America doesn't respect its poor, which is a big part of this so called immigration problem. If they were all rich, no one would complain. The immigrants from Mexico will more or less assimilate. It is unavoidable. I don't think its useful to talk about the way things should be, because we have to deal with things the way they are. They are here, & more are coming. We will survive their assimilation. They will influence our culture, but not change it completely. They will keep some of their own, just as all of the others before them have. Every year we have an Italian Heritage Festival (with Italian flags everywhere) because about one third of this part of West Virginia is Italian. Their immigration was recent. They are both Italians & Americans & its not a problem. There was resistance at first but the native whites got over it. Our civilization is not at risk. That is just fear based hysteria.

  20. I don't salute their "courage."

Why won't the federal government enforce the laws?

  21. I like to see Americans celebrating their ethnic or national heritage.

I don't like to see Mexicans come here illegally and protest our laws.

I will concede the illegal Mexicans in the U.S. are hardworking and persistent. Why don't they go back to Mexico and straighten that country out?

Isn't Mexico just exporting its welfare and unemployment problem to the U.S. for us to solve?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I guess every legal immigrant just wasted their time.

That's the crux, Mexicans are so lazy, they want their citizenship handed to them without having to do what it takes and follow the rules.

Getting your naturalization papers is not an easy road.

    ReplyDelete
  23. This is hilarious.

Down in Arizona, thousands of illegals are packing up and moving.

To New Mexico. They know better than to move to Cali.

    That's funnier than shit.

  24. A close friend of mine is an illegal immigrant from Europe.

Her parents brought her here as a young child, and as you might infer, she wasn't given the option of missing the trip.

Through the DREAM Act, she could become a citizen of the only country (I believe) she remembers living in.

To "anonymous": If you want to do something about your problem with "Mexicans" "at Price Chopper," why don't you take a deep breath, find your Zen place, and volunteer to teach English in your spare time?

Where I'm from, so many people want to learn English they have to draw names to determine who gets a seat in the class.

Tell your friend to take heart: The Dream Act will be passed eventually, because all reasonable people know that it is wrong to punish a child for the 'sins' of the father. The 'haters' have never won, & they will not win this time either.

    ReplyDelete
  26. AnnaUndercover: I think most reasonable people would be willing to sit down and sort out the various issues, but only after the border is secured and the flow of new illegals is stemmed. Also, I would like to see employers who knowingly hire illegals to be hit hard. I'd like to see some CEOs and business owners doing the perp walk on evening TV news. I would also like to see all government services (except emergency compassionate care) to illegals stopped. Maybe if we had real leaders, they could say it's going to happen six months from now. That would give the illegals time to go home.

  27. AnnaUndercover: Does this friend have a social security card? How many times has she perjured herself filling out forms, etc.?

"AnnaUndercover: Does this friend have a social security card? How many times has she perjured herself filling out forms, etc.?"

Without disclosing more, I have no reason to think that she has a social security card, or that she "perjure[s] herself filling out forms" that require proof of ID/citizenship.

She is smart, beautiful, and has never been arrested. It's doubtful that anyone suspects she isn't a US citizen.
