The battle against the undocumented now involves carting away students, in other words . . . The reactionary, anti-Latino side just lost their moral high ground.
Washington Post: Students disclose illegal status as part of push for immigration law reform
Pitch: Three undocumented KC students arrested in D.C. immigration protest
Man, your meth habit is taking you down fast.
ReplyDeleteYou make Radioman look like Henry Kissinger.
What a doofus you is.
the photo is shocking Tony. Thank you for posting.
ReplyDeleteThe NAZI's are back.
ReplyDeleteAre they undocumented or illegal? If they are illegal, shouldn't they be arrested? Why do you think they have a right to be here?
ReplyDeletebecause we are a nation of immigrants.
ReplyDeletea nation of immigrants through LEGAL means, not by breaking our laws.
ReplyDeleteHow about someone actually know and understand the application process before casting judgement on these students. I have way more experience on this topic than any candidate from either party and anyone writing here today. I can tell you that it's not as simple as politicians make it. This isn't a hot dog stand people. There are reasons why people choose the option of staying here undocumented and while some of them have to do with Mexico, most of them have to do with the visa application process itself.
ReplyDeleteBut it IS that simple, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAre they here legally?
Yes: No problem.
No: Arrested (and deported by law)
Not saying it's easy, but the law is the law.
I fought the law and the law won.
ReplyDeleteSlavery was once the law.
ReplyDeleteDeporting 12 million people is not only living outside of reality fiscally it's also living outside of reality on every other level.
ReplyDeleteJust saying get out and go to the back of the line is also not in any way understanding the dynamics of the process. For starters anyone who has been deported will never be given a visa again or at least for 10 years. So the idea that people can go to the back of the line like a roller coaster ride and come back in the next day is completely false.
These men and women know that which is why they are here undocumented. They've made a choice to stay and live that way because in the majority of cases their family is here legally and they are not about to never see them again.
So while each case is different, the majority of cases have to do with our visa process which you know nothing about.
Hows an Illegal American in Mexico get treated?
ReplyDeleteKris kobach sez...why did that Mexican girl dump me in High School?
ReplyDeletePicture this. My family illegally immigrated to Mexico when I was 6. I grew up there, went to college there, and then I got so bold as to march in Mexico City protesting the government there.
ReplyDeleteIsn't protesting your government restricted to citizens? They were either too damn bold or too damn stupid. Either way, they are still here illegally! Break the law and suffer the consequences.
Tony real talk its easier to apply for citizenship then it is to apply for college. Why can't these illegal aliens apply for Citizenship instead of going all the way to my Nation's Capitol to complain a Nation that has been over kind and accommodating. Illegal mexicans spit in the face of our Republic and will cause the demon cats to loose 2012 and the midterm elections.
ReplyDeletehey 5:22. I rep RESENT THAT! Kissinger? Nixon Nazi? (jk!)
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think Mexicans have no honor. Judging them by the worse of them. Maybe we should let BP drill for oil in the Rio Grande. That'd solve this sneakin over the border shit!
Illegal immigrants are protected in under the Constitution. The constitution protects all immigrants regardless of legal status as residents and employees thereby granting them the same constitutional rights that any legal citizen has.
ReplyDeleteIf you overstayed your visa or came in illegally you pay a 1000-2000 peso (100-200 dollar fine depending on your situation) and in three weeks you get your visa. Sorry but thanks for playing.
Note: the 1:19 post was referring to illegal immigrants in Mexico. Also there was a comment about being arrested for marching in Mexico City. That was made up. People march in Mexico City every single day. Unless you are violent you will not be arrested. In fact the police block the streets or walk along the protestors to make sure it doesn't get out of hand and that nobody runs them over. I've personally seen marches from 10 people to 1 million people and have also participated in them.
ReplyDeleteThe crack down has begun.
ReplyDeleteThe hysteria continues ...
ReplyDeleteI like the pic... goes to prove that skirting the immigration process will only result in the loss of any ill-gotten gains.
ReplyDeleteBesides, what kind of fucking retard-
* Enters a country illegally,
* Lacks the common sense to 'lay low'
* Is SUCH an attention whore, that
* They parade around 'protesting'
* and get arrested/deported?
Answer: the kind we don't need here. Deport them by the thousands. I don't give a shit about their 'plight'.
People breaking the law are arrested? Shocking! Simply shocking!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! These people deserve to get arrested and deported! Dumbasses!!
ReplyDeleteHow can an illegal alien legally be working in the U.S.? There is an form you are supposed to fill out when you start a job? Wouldn't they be lying about their status? What about Social Security? Aren't they using fake numbers, etc.? Illegal aliens have to commit a series of illegal acts to keep living and working in the U.S. I think they need to be treated humanely, of course, but they need to be arrested and deported.

ReplyDeleteIllegals who are publicly protesting should be arrested on the spot. If they can't legally be deported quickly, then put them in a prison in some nice convenient part of the United States...say, Barrow, Alaska, or Guam.
ReplyDeleteI think the only hysteria, byron, will be the Leawood types who have large lawns having now to go buy a riding lawnmower and cut their own grass! And learning how to use a trimmer!
ReplyDeleteOh the humanity!
Orale!
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:02/8:13 (assuming same poster)- The visa system may indeed be cumbersome and I'll cede that you have more experience with it, so here's a scenario: the IRS comes to arrest me for failing to pay income taxes my entire working life. I humbly explain that the tax system is too complicated for me to deal with, so I decided not to comply with the law. I am so, so, so sure the US Government will pat me on the head and say, oh, that's okay, how terribly mean of us to make a system that's difficult to understand!
ReplyDeleteFilling out tax forms, business permits, and complying with the seemingly endless paperwork tied to all the local, state and federal regulations is tough. If you want to avoid penalties and/or jail time, you follow the law.
And ,Tony, the view from the moral high ground remains clear, thank you very much. We will maintain this position as long as we are the ones supporting the rule of law. Keep trying to make it racist- it ain't.
Oh, and here's the money quote from the Post story that helps explain why we have such a huge illegal population:
"We don't necessarily take action on everyone who is referred to us," said Gillian Brigham, a spokeswoman for ICE.
Secure the borders!
10:06pm The IRS has what they call an ITIN system which allows people who don't have a social security to pay taxes. Most people aren't aware of it but it does exist and is used to the point where in 2006, IRS Commission told Congress that "many illegal aliens, utilizing ITINs, have been reporting tax liability to the tune of almost $50 billion from 1996 to 2003
ReplyDeleteThey confirmed that today that number is over $90 billion in federal taxes. According to the IRS in 2007, since 1996 nearly 11 million Individual Tax Identification (ITINs) Numbers have been issued to foreigners who don't have Social Security numbers but need to file tax returns. That was in 2007. That is also not including the amount of tax returns filed with mismatching Social and ID.
If you are concerned about taxes paid then why not help push comprehensive immigration reform so that these men and women are brought into society where we can collect 100% of their taxes. And in the meantime why not help push the ITIN system in your area?
Because pushing for the deportation of 12 million people is just not living in reality. Like it or not, these individuals contribute over 600 billion dollars to our GDP, they contribute billions in federal taxes, billions in state taxes, billions to social security and medicare and billions in sales taxes all of which go to public services that they are currently being denied.
Taxation without representation. How have we gone from a country that fought against that to a country that is fighting for it?
10:58- Thanks for totally missing the point of my post! Methinks you're brighter than that, and are using the debate tactic of addressing the opponent's point by re-framing the argument. You can't defend the inanity of your "too complex a system to follow" assertion so you glom on to the word "taxes" to make a totally new argument- 'Hey all these law breakers pay taxes.' SO WHAT? A lot of drug dealers pay taxes, too. The only concern I have regarding taxes is that they are too high, and much of that is due to out of control entitlement programs. What was supposed to be a safety net has become a cocoon. But I digress.
ReplyDeleteYour cry of "taxation without representation," falls on deaf ears, mate. (And also makes me question my assessment of your intelligence.) Visit or work in any foreign country and you're subject to their tax laws- even though you don't have representation in their law-making bodies. Look up "sovereignty." Hell I don't even have to go global to repudiate your claim of injustice. I have no representation on the KCMO council or in Jeff City, being a KS resident, but guess who gets a cut of my paycheck every two weeks?
BTW, I DO support comprehensive immigration reform- one that requires visas and permits and makes violation of the immigration laws a FELONY (by employers, too). Deportation of twelve million may be very difficult or even impossible but we should sure as hell know who and where they are. Maybe that way we could get them their tax refunds that you're so concerned about.
Anon 10:06
Grass got mowed before we were overrun with illegal aliens. I suppose grass will get mowed after we ship them home.
ReplyDelete"Pitch: Three undocumented KC students arrested in D.C. immigration protest"
ReplyDelete1. They shouldn't been in the U.S.
2. They have some never coming to OUR country illegally and protesting ANYTHING.
Does that make me a racist?
Anon 12:42- to use Tony's template: are you white? Then the answer is Yes. The facts are irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteTime to get rid of all borders and laws and governments which restrict the free movement of people. If people want to come here from Mexico or Canada to work, let them! They shouldn't have to be "citizens" or some other kind of nonsense. If people are going to whine about jobs, they should go talk to the capitalists which moved all of the good working class jobs to China.
ReplyDeleteYou won't have to deport 12 million illegals.
ReplyDeleteHere's what we can do:
1. Deport as many as we can.
2. Hit the employers of illegals hard.
3, Deny enrollment in schools, deny driver's licenses, deny any sort of assistance (except compassionate emergency assistance) to illegals.
4, Secure and guard the border. (This really should be #1)
Does that make ME a racist?
Hey, 1:03: what time can we all come over and move into your house? What- not that much freedom of movement? And the only way you could've kept those jobs would've been through laws restricting movement.
ReplyDeleteThink before you post...
1:06- Are you white? Then the TKC answer is "YES you are racist." Facts and logic are irrelevant. I support your plan, complete with moving #4 to #1. And yes, I must be racist.
Book 'em, Dano
ReplyDeleteI guess everyplace isn't a sanctuary city like KC.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, aren't sanctuary cities interfering with U.S. immigration law? Why doesn't Obama sue them?
Many of these young people were brought into the U.S. at a young age, 9 mos., 2 yrs., etc. They did not choose to enter illegally or otherwise remain without status. Many of them didn't even know they lacked legal status until they become adults.
ReplyDeleteIf they are willing to earn a degree or join the military, then I think they desere a path to legal status.
It is the humane, Christian thing to do.
Regarding the law, our system of law is also one of justice and equity - not a black and white reading of the text of the law.
These young people have nothing left to lose and need to force those who claim to support them to act. Congress could easily do this and help out a key part of our next generation of leaders.
For all of the negative posters, I encourage you to talk to one of these people, look into their eyes and try to walk in their shoes. If that doesn't do it for you, no one can help you.
5:56, I guess they need to pick their parents better next time.
ReplyDeleteThe Fed Gov. does not have the manpower or financial resources to deport millions of illegal immigrants.
ReplyDeleteBut, mandate that all employers use E-verify and prosecute any employer who hires illegal immigrants..........and they will be forced to move elsewhere.
Outside of the cost to prosecute employers, getting rid of illegal immigrants doesn't have to cost a dime.
