Destroying And Selling Off The KCMSD

WDAF: KCMO School District Discusses Future of Vacant School Buildings

Comments

  1. Marilyn Simmons can always find an excuse not to do anything. How about selling the buildings "as is?" The Board could at least try that approach and if it doesn't work, they can then try something else.

Even if these buildings go cheap, the District will be out from under the maintenance costs and the property will become taxable.

Won't someone please run against that woman the next time we have a School Board election?

  2. She was crazy last night. She went off on this tangent about the KCPD put up security cameras on a street in Hyde park and how her tax dollars were paying for that. How she wanted cameras in her neighborhood, etc, etc.

    very crazy.

  3. What do the neighborhoods need? Homegrown, local and small business access. Low rent, jobs, safe space, and secure, locations... use these buildings for the greater-good.... and that does not mean a private school or business that keeps the kids and public off the grounds...

  4. What are you gonna do with them, Tony?

People have fled the KCMSD because of the crime and poor education offered.

The schools they were operating were way below capacity.

How many community centers does a city need?

  5. Make sure they sell the building to Hispanic organizations. We deserve our piece of the pie!

  6. She also talked about the 15 million dollars this community has to pay to Cordish for the next 15 - 20 years. Why don't you get off your ass and run aganist her. Bitch and complain is it because you can not control her like you control Arlick West

  7. I can't run against her because I don't live in her district, and I'm not moving to run for a seat on the school board.

  8. Then shut the F-up

  9. Anon 2:59: Don't you think there is anyone better than Simmons in her district? (If she's the best that district has to offer, it's doomed.) Keep in mind her actions impact everyone who lives in the district. I live here and actually pay property taxes, so I think I have a right to expresss an opinion about the wicked do-nothing witch of the east.

Of course you have the right to your eloquently-expressed opinions as well.
