A new feature designed by Kansas City's Queen of Talk Radio Darla Jaye is picking up a lot more attention than anyone expected.
There is quite a bit of Internet Buzz over her latest move.
A write-up from an Examiner site provides a bit of promotional excitement but overall offers all the relevant details.
Even more hilariously, The Kansas Citian decided to update his blog on this topic and offered both insulting comments and encouragement for minorities he'd like to draw closer to his way of thinking.
Obviously, because I've been doing guest spots on her show for almost two years, I think the segment is a FANTASTIC IDEA and offers a MUCH NEEDED glimpse into the thinking of diverse communities.
My only concern is that my fellow minorities will rush to jump on the show and offer up conservative opinions without much support for their positions. Put simply, some people will say anything from "a minority perspective" without a constituency to base those comments. Think about it, there are dopes out there who will speak up for NAMBLA and that's just gross.
For instance, polling information reveals that Latinos largely disapprove of the controversial new immigration law in Arizona. So TKC viewpoints are not only consistent with most of my colleagues but also with the overwhelming majority of Latino Advocacy groups. So, Latinos speaking out on the subject in support of the persecution of the undocumented really do represent a VERY SMALL MINORITY with no organizational support. In the ongoing search for sellouts, it's very important to keep these facts clear.
Still, there are a variety of other topics where minority opinion is not so clear cut and Darla is doing some AMAZING WORK in finding solidarity among local Conservatives that crosses cultural, racial and other demographic lines.
In much the same way, I'll be looking for more images of bikini hotties of all different persuasions posing with The American Flag just like Melyssa Ford seen displaying her patriotism and a peek at her booty at the top of this post.
Your're stretching the statistics.
ReplyDelete"Very SMALL" is 5 percent. A third is a third. You should say 'a third'. anything else, Tee, is distortion and I was hoping you aren't learning math from KMBZ or Faux News!
Darla is still a moron, but I know you have to shill for her like you have to Dos Mundos or what other minority organizations are out there.
Franky, I'm not sure Arizona Latinos are a cross section of America, given its proximity to the border and the likelihood that there are many more illegals there than elsewhere.
Ya have to read polls very carefully. Moreover, I'm not so sure Univision, in a 900 phone call sampling, can come up with a decent cross section of "Latinos." I would presume their phone list is composed of people who regularly watch Univision, and we all know many Latinos have chosen to be English speakers, not Spanish speakers.
They are likely to turn a different percentage, than Univision watchers... just like Fox News polls tend to skew conservative. I wouldn't be suprised if a broad base of people who identify race "Hispanic" nationwide may well turn two thirds FOR the rules, not against it. And registered voters might turn even higher!
This doesn't matter. We're going to build the fence and the illegals are going to have to get in the back of the line. I certainly support the feds issuing solid Citizenshp/SS/Work permit cards soon... likely after the election.
I'm sure none of the politicos want to upset the tamale cart before then.
Yes, you can never have enough ethnic special interest group divisions among us so that we can all have a chance to fail in our little separate groups instead of having some success by working together!
ReplyDeleteAnd folks like you and Darla would do ANYTHING to call attention to yourselves and make believe that your programs are about anything other than YOU.
There are few things more pitiful than small-time local celebrities.
I bet Melyssa could balance a glass of water on that rump of hers.
