WHY THE ATTACK ON JONAS?!?!?

There's an essentially meaningless story regarding some back taxes owed by Leonard “Jonas” Hughes IV.

The Star runs this garbage when I ignored it when it showed up in my comment section last week. Why did I refuse to run it? Because it doesn't have any impact on how he will serve Kansas City.

However, The Star pretty much IGNORES Mayor Funky's many mortgages so this attention to detail signals quite a few things.

IN A CROWDED RACE, JONAS JUST MIGHT TAKE THE EASTSIDE VOTE AND THAT'S ENOUGH TO GET HIM INTO THE PRIMARY!!!

Less importantly, Jonas has enemies who know this and want to bring his candidacy down.

Also, if this is the worst they can find going on in Jeff City . . . This means that real dirt on Jonas is hard to come by . . . Because in this day and age a great many people owe cash.

So, remember that TKC doesn't make political endorsements, mostly because nobody would want them anyway. However, this bit of hate directed toward the Youngest, Black Dude in the Mayoral race with real connections is completely transparent and not in a good way.

  3. This sounds like a legitimate news story, not 'hate.'

    Boo-hoo.

    Stop your whining, TKC.

  5. And now, tax advice from Tony.

I love you TKC, is there anything you can't do?

  6. I consistently vote against someone that doesn't pay their bills, is behind on taxes, or commits crimes. This story is relevant to me. If a candidate can't take care of their own business, they won't take care of mine either.

  8. The hell it doesn't matter.

Personal responsibility matters one hell of a lot to the people (taxpayers, for example) who manage to do it (pay their taxes on time, for example).

AUTO, CHEVROLET PRIZM, 2000, 1Y1SKS282YZ425838 is still under your mommy's name Tony. So what would you know about paying personal property taxes WHEN YOUR MOMMY STILL DOES IT FOR YOU?

    Nothing, that's what.

The bigger story is just HOW FUCKED UP JACKSON COUNTY TAX COLLECTION DEPARTMENT CONTINUES TO OPERATE. Really fucked up! I'm trying not to look at you Mike... trying not to look your way.... if you are unwilling to make heads roll can you at least demote?

How many out here have had to go several rounds with the staff at the court house?

Hughes made a really stupid mistake in not getting this cleared up or a notation put in his file that the taxed amount was incorrect BEFORE he announced his jackass run for mayor. Reporters follow the same script, they look at traffic records, CaseNet and County Tax Records. Yeah, we want that blasted bastard funk'd gone, but we will not settle for just any one. It is not 3 am at the bar!

  11. Toadstool,
    Well said.
I am half willing to give Jonas a pass on this because Jackson County has screwed up my personal property taxes on a regular basis. But he needed to be upfront before the Star got a hold of it. BTW, if this is from 2005, where was the Star when he ran for State Legilature? Never mind, I know that they are a rag.

  13. Meet Tony at Erotic City back in the Day Yes HOMO6/21/10, 8:55 PM

The real question for Tony is why did he pass on this story is it because Jonas is constantly sucking Tony's d@@k! I bet if Sly was 15 minutes late on taxes TKC would have the damn nuclear bomb post going off. Don't get mad Tony if the Star is fair and balanced and your not.

  14. Could it be Diana?6/21/10, 9:02 PM

Funny that Sly James' name comes up in this post?

  15. Jonas' back taxes ARE an issue. If not, then why did you run a story on Park Commissioner Ajamu Webster and his $20k+ in back property taxes? Come on, Tony, fair is fair.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's right, Tony ... fair is fair don't get all self-righteous about taxes for people you dislike, then whine "No fair!" when your friends have the SAME ISSUE!

OK, we get get it ... you're a "BLOGGER, not a journalist". But can you at least try not be a HYPOCRITE?

  17. Tony drive a beat up ass blue truck and it RAWKS!

  18. I heard he bought Tara's pink Chevy truck for date nights at Missie B's.

  19. Bwahahahaahahaha. Tony can't get a date ANYWHERE!

And he doesn't have enough money to pay.

  20. Ok, let's get some perspective people. The post isn't about Tony, it's about Jonas, who should have paid his taxes and was right to be called out on it. Tony, you did your work on other tax skippers; now do it on this one, too.

  21. The real story is the incompetence of the Jackson County Tax Assessor Curtis Koons. The County Executive has to keep him on such a short lease because he is a walking disaster. all you have to do is compare the taxes that the real people pay as opposed to the lack of taxes the Koons' buddies pay.

  24. you're such a hypocrite. You blast the Funk for some $20 campaign fund dispute, but you give this guy a pass for tax evasion and claim it's not important. That's why you will never be more than a gossip column girdie. When it rubber meets the road you will show your bias to cover up a major campaign ending issues, but call in the FBI because someone accidently gave you the wrong change.

You're a joke.. and you're stories are biased and full of hate.... putz

  25. if this guy is going to cheat on his taxes... if this guy is going to consciously break the law... if this guy tries to get away with something illegal... do we want him as Mayor for our City... NO WAY. This jonas character needs to go away into the woodwork. The last thing we need is another black white hater stealing our money and linning his pockets and others like Terri "King Pin" Riley. No thanks. He will never be mayor of this city. We had enough corruption with Wayne Cauthen and Kay Waldo-Cronkite-Barnes.

  26. I like how Jason Noble of The Star, who writes predominately GOP puff pieces, just posted a story about someone having to pay 1 grand to the IRS and then casually noted at the very end of the piece that the person is a democratic state rep and candidate for Mayor; as if it had nothing to do with the hit piece.

Hey Noble, I heard Funkhouser owes Blockbuster like 12 bucks. You should look into it.
