TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY POLITICAL CONSULTANT CHRIS MORENO WORKS THE ALLEN DILLINGHAM CAMPAIGN AGAINST COUNCIL DUDE ED FORD!!!

The upcoming Council Race is going to get VERY INTERESTING given the news that AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS are sending the way of this blog.

We already know that local political denizen Allen Dillingham is posing a serious threat to Northland incumbent Ed Ford. Dillingham the younger has deep pockets and Ford could suffer from the anti-incumbent mood sweeping the nation.

Even better . . .

TKC CONFIRMED: UP AND COMING POLITICAL CONSULTANT CHRIS MORENO IS WORKING ON ALLEN DILLINGHAM'S CAMPAIGN FOR CITY COUNCIL!!!

This is an interesting move because . . . If the comments on this blog are any indication, Moreno can be a polarizing figure and every high profile Kansas City Political Consultant has enemies.

For me, the choice of Moreno and his firm seems a little bit odd and might have more to do with Moreno's star rising overall. With State Rep. Jonas Hughes working with Moreno, Will Royster taking cues from the dude as well . . . Right now, this Northland race puts Chris Moreno all over the Kansas City Political Map.

As for what this means for Dillingham's chances . . . Decide for yourself. The dude seems like a serious contender but a bit of a stiff in public. Even though this is city-wide race that will be dependent on media, he'll have to prove himself in debates and public forums where Ford excels. What might be worth watching is if/how Moreno helps one of his candidates overcome these challenges.

Developing . . .

Comments

  1. Allen is an up and comer and should not be dismissed. He may be quiet, but he is a big thinker and smart, and willing to shake things up. Moreno or no Moreno ( and I don't know Chris Moreno), Dillingham has a good chance at being a councilman.

  2. Ed will eat Allen's lunch in a debate. Daddy can't help him there.

  3. As a northlander, I will vote for any candidate running against Ford. We need a new council, top to bottom.

His time has come. And gone.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Moreno is a lose cannon that is going to take the beating of his life with candidates like Jonas Hughes and Will the nut Royster. You to have a quality candidate to win and he comes up short.Plus his track record is horrible .

  5. I know Chris Moreno and he is no lose cannon. He is a great guy. Good choice for Allen.

  6. Moreno and his firm is working a volume business.

They receive kick-backs or commissions from printers, media buys and other campaign venders. They are not the only ones, but not ever political consultant does it.

For that reason, they need to have candidates to buy such "stuff." Moreno's firm operates on a commission driven business model.

It does not matter to Moreno's firm if they win or lose. They only care about whether campaign material is purchased. They also offer fundraising services to candidates that hire them, and they take a percentage of what is raised off the top.

It is as if a physician would distribute germs to children if they thought parents would buy office visits.

There is also an extortion angle to Moreno's business. He has threatened several candidates with representing their opponents if they did not hire his firm.

Since his firm is known for no-ethics attacks on opponents, some cadidates are scared to say no.

If The Star really wants to show up Tony, who is obviously supporting Moreno's corruption on racist grounds, the paper should take some space and effort (its called journalism) and explain how this fired political hack is all of a sudden cashing in on democracy.

  7. No one at The Star knows the city or politics well enough to write such a story.

  8. Moreno is a disappointment to those who have known him for years.

  9. Did anyone else here that the CCP will use a NON UNION printer to produce the sample ballot?

The Demorats are turning on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  10. UNION Yes = Pat Gray6/29/10, 9:28 PM

Moreno and his firm are doing a great job. The fact that political consultants come on the blogs to attack his firm is testament.

Pat Gray is the real political consultant ripping clients off and everyone knows it.

    Sober up Pat.

  11. Moreno alligned himself with organized crime in Eastern Jack years ago.

  12. The Labor Beacon should investigate the us of a fake Union Bug by Service Printing and Graphics, which was awarded the contract to print the CCP materials.

The Demorats kick labor in the balls every time, so why does labor put up with that kind of bullshit?

  13. Some of these stories are so ludicrous as to be unbelievable. I bet most of them are.

  14. Ed Ford is a disappointment to those who have known him for years.

  15. Tony:

What do you mean: "Dillingham's ... a bit of a stiff"? He's a TOTAL stiff.

And we don't need a privileged, "I'm a DILLINGHAM so I'm entitled" smartass on City Council.

Let the guy first try WORKING for a living.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Chris is taking losers because that's his only option , no one want a consultant that's been fired for losing so many races.

"Let the guy first try WORKING for a living."

    That comment describes Ford.

  18. If this news is true, good for Dillingham. He couldn't have found a better consultant. Moreno is great.

Ah HELL! Ed Ford is a good guy. Fuck Chris Moreno and his "client" Who the hell would hire Chris Moreno? Is this a new way to funnel Daddy Moreno's union tie funds to little chrissie?
Chrissie couldn't get a job unless daddy plowed the way.
As for Diillingham... a fucking lobbyist? You think a damn lobbyist would be good for Kansas City? You are one crazy person.

  20. I like the choice for consultant. Dillingham just saved his campaign a lot of wasted cash that the rest of the consulting pack would have charged and got a consultant that can quickly gather massive support in diverse communities.

    Nice pick.

  21. Looks like 11:48 and some other gents here lost out on a consulting contract. Their message of gutter politics tells Kansas City Dillingham made a smart choice.

    Go Chris Moreno!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agreed. Moreno is a great guy and a very smart and honest consultant.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dillingham is a smart, well established, pro-labor candidate. I like his candidacy and his choice for consultant.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It looks like the Drunk Consultant Coalition started early.

The only loss Chris Moreno has had is when he was a young kid and I was impressed at how close he came. Since then the guy has been on fire.

I think he is a great guy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think Jonas Hughes will quickly become the front runner and 7:57 is smoking crack if he thinks J.J. Rizzo will beat Will Royster in Northeast.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Allen is a great candidate. Ford has been around a while, but I think Allen can win this one and his chances just got better with Moreno's help. Labor boots will be all over the Northland now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. As a Northlander I can't for Allen Dillingham to win this race!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I like it !!! Great stuff Allen!

  29. Chris Moreno is a great guy!
