Before the recent School Board Election and prior to a slate put together by current KCMSD Board Prez Airick L. West won handily in a race with low turnout -- There was an arguement that Ajamu Webster was the most powerful African-American Dude in Kansas City.

Now, not so much.

Still, the guy has influence.

Ajamu Webster is most likely, still, Mayor Funky's favorite Black dude. Also, in a recent decision by the Kansas City, Missouri School District to backtrack on the move to consolidate the Afrikan Centered Education Campus -- Ajamu Webster's influence was still apparent given that he so often speaks out on behalf of the campus.

SO, WITH ALL OF HIS ACTIVISM AND INFLUENCE IT'S RATHER SURPRISING THAT AJAMU WEBSTER HASN'T PAID A DELINQUENT JACKSON COUNTY PROPERTY TAX BILL FOR DUBOIS CONSULTANTS GIVEN THAT THEY NOW OWE MORE THAN $20K!!!

Ajamu Webster's dedication to Afrikan Centered Education is noted on the company's web page. But maybe he doesn't realize that the schools can't run without property tax cash. Personally, I think any money directed toward the KCMSD is a waste but I don't want to hold public office or do anything remotely related to helping people.

Similarly, Parks Board Members and most other folks on Kansas City Commissions are required to go an arduous screening process that ensures they don't have any outstanding or back taxes due. I couldn't qualify for the position given that I have a hitman from Discover looking for me . . . Nevertheless, since Ajamu Webster fought to keep Afrikan Schools Open, maybe he might want to help pick up some of the tab as well. It certainly would go a long way toward setting a good example.
