The Kansas City murder rate is above 50 and the Summer has just begun. Sadly, a throwback to the days of Former City Manager Wayne Cauthen just keeps getting money.

Read about upcoming Ordinance #100512 for yourself. Here's a snippet:
"Accepting and approving a one-year, $400,000.00 grant award agreement with the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City for the Aim4Peace program; with $100,000.00 of the funding dependent upon the Health Department obtaining a $100,000.00 match from non-public resources; increasing revenue and appropriations in the amount of $209,878.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund; designating requisitioning authority to the Director of Health; and recognizing an emergency."
Again, I'm all for dealing with local violence but this program hasn't offered any solutions, puts forth questionable stats and runs up an impressive food bill according to a great many local sources. If Kansas City is going to work to prevent more local murders, throwing cash at the problem simply won't solve anything.
Finally, my money is always on Penny Mathis.

ReplyDelete...does the appearance of "trying to do something" help or hurt... I think it must help a little bit because it tells the murdering class "at least we are feeling your pain and paying some attention..."

All the more reasons why we need to vote against the KC earning tax. I'm tired of my tax dollars being wasted on Politically Correct pet projects.

ReplyDeleteAim 4 a Piece is a complete waste of dollars. It's Traci Cole's way of staying employed. They talk of the success of the campaign in Chicago... where more than 50 people were shot last weekend! Nice job. Traci measures the success of the worthless program on how many murders they've prevented. Since you can't prove a negative, this just goes to show you how stupid she is and how dumb the people who support Aim 4 a Piece are. And now they steal their money from the Health Levy.
