It's nice to see a Republican working on weekends when most JoCo d-bags are merely content to have KC Proper subsidize their entertainment. Anyhoo: Kevin Yoder has been declared the winner of the Olathe Republican Party Straw Poll!
From an e-mail blast: "After a great day of speaking with voters, Yoder for Congress won the straw poll handily, receiving 157 votes with his next closest competitor receiving 117!"
Remember that JoCo Publisher Steve Rose told TKC readers that Yoder would walk away with this thing and it looks like that was a rather accurate call.

We are FUCKED... what a lousy choice of candidates...
ReplyDeleteDon't count on it. Patricia Lightner is coming on strong. No one even mentioned her a few months ago. She just might win it. She has my vote
ReplyDeleteKansas City shouldn't think in terms of subsidizing the entertainment of the suburbanites. They should think of it as a way of getting suburbanites into the city to spend money.
ReplyDeleteIf there were more stores and restaurants around the entertainment venues in KC, the suburbanites wouldn't get in their cars so quickly after the game or concert and drive home.
Only KCMO looks at things this way. Wyandotte County doesn't have a toll booth to shake down people going to the T-Bones or Wizards games or the races at Kansas Speedway.
They're happy people are coming to WyCo for these events. KCMO on the other hand thinks they are "subsidizing" someone's entertainment. What a loser attitude.
