Kansas City Could Soon Break A Lease With Royals And Chiefs If They Don't Pay Up!!!

Wow . . . A really well written and thoroughly researched article about cash at City Hall didn't get a single response because it was horribly boring. Here's the skinny:

Kansas City give Jackson County $2 Mil Every year for the Stadiums without a contract. The Council Cut Back. Acting City Manager Troy Schulte is trying to come up with the cash and Council Lady Deb Hermann might make an ordinance to make it right. Meanwhile, Mayor Funky is whining ineffectually and nobody is paying attention because he's a lame duck. All things considers: KANSAS CITY WILL KEEP ON PAYING FOR THE CHIEFS AND ROYALS AND THE ONLY PERSON AGAINST IT IS THE MAYOR -- A GUY WHO ALSO THINKS HIS WIFE'S FEET ARE A BIG LOCAL PRIORITY!!!

Make no mistake, there are serious people who don't like this deal but they're not going to make the same mistake and vote for Mayor Funky again.

  1. The city has no business paying the Royals or Chiefs anything for those stadiums. This country has it's priorities screwed up, if we are willing to give millions to individuals who are already millionaires. Take that money and put it towards basic city services. We pay some of the highest taxes around, including an earnings tax, and we see a snowplow once every two years. Who gives a crap about the Royals or Chiefs when it comes to supporting the financially. Just raise the cost of tickets. Obviously there are enough idiots out there who will pay whatever they charge to see a bunch of guys chase a ball around a field. The City is cutting money going to Truman Medical Center to help cover indigent care, but by God we better hand over more money to those who can pay premium prices when it comes to healthcare. What a shame.... what.... a.... shame.

  4. Anonymous 9:31... the idiocy of your post speaks volumes about you. And if you are going to insult a great civic servant's intelligence, at least learn to spell "judgment".

Deb is trying to make right what the Mayor screwed up. Remember you saw it here... Deb will spend the next four years as our mayor, doing the same job.
