Jolie Justus Vs. Rex Sinquefield

State Sen. Jolie Justus supports "amending the state constitution to make the constitution more difficult to amend. In other words, requiring a higher vote threshold than the current 50 percent."

On the other hand, it's sad to think that the only decent cities in the State are scared of some old man, his money and ignorant rural voters informed mostly by hate radio.

Do we really want the people we elect to play with the election rules? Whatever happened to working the electorate? Lazy politicians can't be trusted to serve us. This is government depriving us of the right to decide. Leave it to a politician to panic when they think they might lose tax dollars, most of which are squandered anyway, and try to become our nanny.

  2. She should have done this BEFORE she took Rex Money from Victor Callahan.

  3. Actually Jolie Justus' idea is a GOOD ONE.

Constitutions have to be amendable; but it should take some "extra effort or extra level of support" to be able to get the amendment done.

The U.S. Constitution has served us damn well for more than 243 years. And it has been amended 27 times. But it's not easy to get it amended. For example, I for one am GLAD that the bigots' desire to restrict marriage to be restricted solely to a man and a woman has NOT become a Constitutional amendment. And I'm a 62 year old hetero white man!

Otherwise people like Rex-Boy and his buddy Kemper Crosby -- both paragons of self-righteous privilege -- get to spend enough money to decide what's lawful.

And that' repugnant in a democracy.

  4. Jolie doesn't trust "the people" to govern themselves.

She's a democrat that hates democracy.
