Hehe: Talk Of Kansas City Ethics

A groundbreaking bit of "news" from The Star today . . . "The rules for Kansas City's ethics commission may need to be changed, a member said Tuesday, after learning from The Kansas City Star that two members helped raise money for a mayoral candidate."

Unfortunately . . . TKC TIPSTERS, READERS and Even Haters were talking about this back in April.

Local government playing catchup is nothing new in much the same way the The Star informing folks of old news is par for the course.

As noted in the Terry Riley post above: Why doesn't the FBI investigate City Hall?

  2. The Public Corruption Division, or the US Attorney really should open an investigation of City Hall. It is time.

  3. Wow! Helling and Horsley, thanks for bringing to light this lawful behavior. You did an almost excellent job of making it look as if you uncovered something. Must feel good to get that "Gotcha!" moment when you catch someone following the rules. Congrats! Stay strong, stay brave and keep writing these investigative pieces even if you don't find anything.

  4. The Chair of the City's Ethics Commission is an Assistant U.S. Attorney, so maybe they ARE investigating. Or, it could be a 'Black Mass'

  5. does the ETHICS committee need a dictionary for the word?

  6. I don't think we should have an Ethnics Commission. Why does everything have to be about race?

  7. Personally, I kill to get on that Ethics Commission!

  8. Dave and Lynn must feel really juiced, thinking they've landed a big fish. But this is old drivel that has been going on for ages. Since the ethics commission rarely meets, there is very little chance of them voting on anything.

Lynn doesn't cover the real news at City Hall, then springs this worthless story on us as if she has done a great thing. Puleeze.

  9. I can't believe it took TWO reporters for this story. If someone wants rules, make rules, end of story.

  10. Lynn is lame.

    Helling is a mess.
