Brisbane's Dead Tree Journey

Bottom Line Communications Reports: "Art Brisbane, who rose the position of publisher of the Kansas City Star, has been named the new Public Editor at the New York Times."

So, this is the second Star newsie to leave town in what seems to be an East Coast flight to quality with bigger, more established dead tree orgs. It looks like the last papers that will keep printing will rely on brand management . . . Unfortunately, this doesn't play to The Star's strengths.

  1. Brisbane went to work to Knight Ridder corporate for a few years before "leaving town to heading east," as you so inaccurately put it.

So the future of journalism is safely vested in your twisted logic, half-truths, fabrications and lies?

    Not bloody likely.

  6. Last time I checked you had to leave town to get to New York from Oakland and the guy is famous for being a KC Star newsie.

Way too many reporters read Tony's blog.
