There's a chance to talk about the Federal Deficit on Saturday in JoCo. A presser advices that "in 18 cities around the U.S., regular folks will consider different ways to deal with the federal deficit. All the sites will be linked by satellite or webcam, and each participant will have a keypad that allows him or her to vote for different types of actions."

Check out their website for more info on the event.

The Huff Post notes that there's definitely going to be a lot of anti-Social-Security Sentiment.

But checking it out for yourself might not be a horrible idea if that kind of thing is your bag.

  1. Well, dealing with the deficit is pretty simple. Stop spending so much money, like with the stimulus programs that didn't work. Go back and read the Constitution and trim back the federal government to be doing only the things the Constitution allows.

  2. Let's get a bunch of people together who've never studied economics & discuss the economy.
The deficit is so large that no tweaking can fix it, only prosperity.

  3. I love it. A nationwide town meeting. Does that even make sense? Because if it were nationwide then it wouldn't be a town meeting right? Or if it were a meeting of just one town then it wouldn't be nationwide would it?

  4. ...Sound and fury, signifying nothing.
