Mayor Funky and Co-Mayor Wife Gloria are still kidding themselves . . . Also, I'll consider it a personal victory if they don't make it past the primary in the upcoming election.
A man can dream.
Check this week's nonsense, propaganda and outright deception from the couple currently running Kansas City . . .
Dear Folks,
This Week's City Business
The Sprint town hall meeting was attended by over 500 Kansas Citians. The Mayor's staff did an excellent job of making sure that the regular folks of this city received an evening that was not only informative, but also full of local entertainment.
The King and Queen of the Renaissance festival, along with their dancers, entertained people on the way in, a magician and face painters kept the children busy both before and during the event, and the KC Marching Falcons entertained the crowd on their way out. And Tanna Guthrie of KUDL was on hand to give the Mayor's Sprint concert and NBA tickets away as door prizes. All of the above items were graciously donated - as usual - Kansas Citians are always ready to step up to help.
Also as usual, there were some that criticized the Mayor for spending a comparatively minimal amount of money on the town hall meeting. It seems that some people have a problem with providing free popcorn and a free peek inside the Sprint Center to the regular folks of this city.
The Mayor has held over 70 town hall meetings since the beginning of his term. And the Sprint town hall was just another way for him to reach his constituents and let them know his vision for the city and how he's going about achieving it. All in all, people left with a feeling of excitement and hope that this Mayor is working hard to fulfill the promises he told them he would make.
The Mayor received some great news concerning more than 200 mostly-vacant Kansas City houses this week.
On May 12, the Mayor held a press conference asking Kansas Citians to get involved in a planned huge auction of houses owned by Wells Fargo as the result of foreclosures.
The Mayor was concerned that the houses would be purchased by out-of-town investors who would do little with them until the housing market rebounds. The problem with this scenario is that the houses typically end up being an eyesore in the neighborhoods - with weed filled yards that the city is then burdened to clean-up until they can track down the investors to pony up and pay for the maintenance.
After his press conference, Wells Fargo canceled the auction.
Since then, Wells Fargo has been talking with the Mayor, local neighborhood development groups and others about the best way to make sure these houses end up as homes for Kansas Citians. Wells Fargo has developed a four-part plan to make sure the houses are offered first to city agencies and non-profits that use Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds.
This goes to show what staying alert, informed, and vigilant can do when guarding the city's coffers.
On a More Personal Note
The Big-Guy only had one event to attend today, as such, he spent the rest of the day doing what he hasn't done since he was elected into office.yard work. You can't imagine how good it feels to look out my windows and see a nice tidy yard once again. And it just goes to show what staying alert, informed, and vigilant can do for a marriage.

Schools First is the Mayor's new initiative created to help all schools in Kansas City - public, private and charter - by improving public safety and infrastructure around the schools.
* Schools First will: Use a no tax increase bond to fix sidewalks, crosswalks and other city infrastructure around all schools
* Use a portion of a renewed Public Safety sales tax to fund increased police presence around all schools
* Focus Kansas City's basic service priorities on areas around all schools
* Partner with all schools to apply for federal and private grants to improve neighborhoods and walk to school programs
* Create a city based staff liaison to work with every school
o The following is a list of how you can get involved: Call or write your Council members and ask them to vote to put the initiative on the August ballot
o Ask five of your friends to do the same, and have them ask five of their friends to do the same, and so on...
o The Mayor is currently growing an email database to give twice-weekly updates regarding the initiative. Please send an email to five friends who you think would support the initiative and would like to hear updates regarding it - and ask them if you could provide the Mayor with their email address for this purpose. Then have them ask five of their friends to do the same, and so on. You can email the Mayor regarding this initiative at: schoolsfirst@kcmo.org.
o Organize a town hall meeting for the Mayor to come and speak about the initiative, then promote it, with the goal of having 50 people in attendance
o Hand out informational brochures and buttons regarding the initiative
o Call in to talk radio to show your support of the initiative
o Write a letter to the editor to show your support of the initiative

The Mayor's top ten priorities:
1. Establishing a good working relationship with the Council
2. Getting the City's finances in order
3. Making downtown work
4. Tending to our neighborhoods
5. Implementing the Housing Policy task force recommendations
6. Improving the perception and the reality of public education in Kansas City
7. Reducing Crime
8. Repairing our sewer systems
9. Establishing an excellent regional transit system, which includes light rail
10. Improving citizen satisfaction with City services
Why can't they just go away?
ReplyDeleteUgh. Maybe she'll have a career as a fiction writer after they lose the next election.
ReplyDeleteGloria, if you had picked up a rake and focused on the yard instead of City Hall, you husband might have had a chance to be a real Mayor and you might have lost some gross tonnage.
ReplyDeleteBut none of that happened, you lazy fat ass.
They interact with a smaller and smaller number of people, who tell them they are doing great.
ReplyDeleteShe really believes all this, and does not understand how when she talks about her dominance in their marriage it sounds really creepy.
It was a "comparatively minimal amount" - what exactly does that mean? It was over $6,000 just for the venue. I don't consider that cheap. And who is she kidding, 500 people? We all saw the wrap around video on the news, the video didn't lie. I can also guarantee that more "regular folk" have seen the inside of the sprint center than any other. Sorry, not going to bite on that one either. She is a fiction writer, no doubt about it.

ReplyDelete"when she talks about her dominance in their marriage it sounds really creepy."
Also, it does not reflect well on him.
Saying "why can't they go away" should be rephrased.... "Tony, quit talking about him... their fifteen minutes is OVER!
ReplyDeleteI know, I know, city hall bureaucrats are your stock and trade.
But the writer was right... they're pretty isolated in a small group of supporters and have set themselves up for quite a shock on election night.
As to the schools first, wrong priority. The sewer system should be up at the top. And effective policing of the crime areas.
I was not impressed with his list of term priorities. I could have written that, but not in that order.
Did you see in the schools first, city wants to hire school liaisons? we need FEWER bureaucrats on the city payroll, not more. Put those dollars to have two more police by each of the high schools in the beginning and end of the day . That's where the trouble is. And a few more security guards which they should have now with school consolidations.
Reminder:
ReplyDeleteThis is DAY 6 FOR THE FUNKHOUSER SUICIDE WATCH.
This paragraph is oh so revealing in its public emasculation of the Funk and is a nice touch by Glo to remind everyone who wears the pants in this family.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that "Gloria" means Dominatrix in Spanish.
Oh so revealing...
ReplyDeleteThe Big-Guy only had one event to attend today, as such, he spent the rest of the day doing what he hasn't done since he was elected into office. Yard work. You can't imagine how good it feels to look out my windows and see a nice tidy yard once again. And it just goes to show what staying alert, informed, and vigilant can do for a marriage.
What a fat cow.
I can't stand that big bull bitch.
ReplyDelete"In Faith" exactly what Faith. City paid for site, is that a religion the bitch is talking about. Separation of Church and State. Hall the bitch off she is crazy.
ReplyDeleteWhen will they be out of office? Can't you just avoid blogs until then?
ReplyDeleteHer Big-Guy is a Big Lug on the City and the 40,000 voters in the mayoral primary had best be paying attention or will get the Big Lug back. He won't kill himself...he's a victim of Stockholm Syndrome, where captives befriend their captors and bond with them our of a sense of necessity. That's what you're watching folks... a poor captive funk locked into the force field of a witch. We need an excorcist is what we need, and fast.
ReplyDeleteWhich Mayor is she speaking of? Who is interested in anything personal from those people? Is this the same Big Lug" she spoke of beating, sounds like a great marriage to me.
ReplyDeleteHe is not a" Big Guy" he is only tall and extremely ugly. Big Guy PLEASE bitch give it a rest.
ReplyDeleteIf you read this thread, you can see that at least in THIS ROOM, Gloria's newsletters ending 'in faith' fall on deaf ears in THIS BLOG.
ReplyDeleteThe REAL QUESTION is the one that asks if her online comments are received better around KC, than the moron Mayor haters in the TKC room!!!?
Fact is, if a small group read this daily-Funk critical room but outsiders pay more attention to the Mayor, then you will be the surprised ones at election time.
?If he WINS, all things considered, and TKC therefore loses after these many months of hate and positioning, well we will have learned a whole lot, won't
we have???
Did you know that Radioman in German is Funkmann?
ReplyDeleteHonest, you can't make this shit up!
radioman, unlike your blogs waste of bandwidth, this is a JOKE Blog, full of sarcasm and humor, something you know nothing about.
ReplyDeleteradio-glo don't try to be Philosophical you are not bright.. stick with what you know looking up your husband's butt.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Radioman is Gloria, but I understand why you might think so. I don't think he knew that his handle translates to Funkmann. Perhaps he will return with a new handle, or maybe he'll let his maid blog some. I would rather know what a real person thinks, instead of someone with pretensions enough to have a maid.
ReplyDeleteYou're all just over-analyzing. You Stupid asses! Lie I've said before, this room is high entertainment!
