TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY CRITICISM OF CRYSTAL WILLIAMS HITS THE INTERNETS WITH A VENGEANCE!!!
I think it's important to address political issues in public and what I find silly about so many so-called reformers is that they take a bold stance regarding the state of local politics and then go hide when pushback inevitably comes their way.
The supporters of Jackson County Legislature Candidate Crystal Williams are strident, confused, bold but scared of outright confrontation all at the same time. As elections get closer, it's time for them and everybody else to put their cards out on the table.
For instance, what I've heard about the "real" Crystal Williams from insiders I respect is that she can't take criticism and she's too soft for public office. What motivates her supporters is a misdirected hatred for the opposition and I can't help but consider that there's probably a bit of ethnic bias built into so many political perceptions from the so-called liberal Brookside dimwits. Real Talk: I don't know Rizzo's record well enough to make any summary judgments on his career but I'll be damned if I simply take the word of some of the same naive Kansas City Political Denizens who blindly supported Mayor Funky and Co-Mayor Gloria on the way to their disastrous tenure.
So, taking so much into consideration this

"Miss "transparent" forgot to mention that she has lobbying contract with Swope Health Care for $5,000 a month that runs thru the end of May, and that Jackson County funds Swope to the tune of $200,000 a year. Just a little conflict that deserves some attention."
Now, the real "Crystal" touts her Swope Connection on her website but doesn't mention cash. As for her "holier than thou" supporters . . . They never let anything interrupt their crusade, even their own faults and shortcomings.
As always, when elections get closer to the finish line, the folks wanting to "clean up" local government never look so clean as when they first got into the game. Supporters of the "real" Crystal throw a lot of stones but might not realize that believing too deeply in any politico is like putting faith in the structural integrity of a glass house.

ReplyDeleteGreat early morning reading. If she forgot to mention that she recieved 5000.00 a month from Jackson County what else is she omitting or out right lying about? I don't what or more improtantly who is guiding her to run for office but it seems like Ms. Williams is finding out the hard way that there is distinct difference between back room deals in Jeff City and actually having to gain the public's trust. Lobbyiest are born liars.
ReplyDeleteI have been a friend of the "real" Crystal Williams for a while now and plan on voting for her but I wish she would have run for Beth Lowe's vacant seat instead. She knows Jeff City politics and would have done well. I can't understand why someone who is such a good democrat would challange another good democrat, who is also an incumbent. I don't think she will have much success this time and it will really hurt her political capital in the community and in Jefferson City. We need less infighting as a party and more success against the Roy Blunt's of the world. Maybe this is why Jefferson City is filled with republicans.

For future reference, when someone promises you a victory in politics make sure they can deliver on the fundraising. In other words, make sure they can also fully fund your campaign. Don't just be a pawn in the plan, be the plan. She just got screwed by politicians on their way out with no influence left. She will unfortunately find out what happens when you become a joke in the political community. No more call backs from elected officials and that lobbying business thing, yeah that's over. Because people don't vote for lobbyists and businesses don't hire pawns to lobby for them. If I were her I would call the salesman who sold her this idea and tell them to stick it.

ReplyDeleteKim is Crystal's campaign manager, but is hiding behind a shill because no-one wants to be associated with the name Kim Carlos.
Just wait and see how much money Kim Carlos secretly dips out of county coffers (our tax money), if Crystal Williams wins.
I hope that Crystal wins but I expect Rizzo and the Goons at Local 42 to pull out all the stops to stop her. She will work with Theresa Garza-Ruiz to battle the old-boys network led by Sanders, Rizzo, Tarwater and Waits. Those four crooks fear strong women like Crystal and Theresa. And as far as Kim Carlos goes why is she any worse than Calvin Williford, who everyone knows is addicted to booze, drugs and gambling? Williford has also packed the Executive Office with more of his kind. As opposed to Calvin, who can be charitably called a bad man, Kim is just a good woman and a cancer survivor. Maybe that should tell you someting too. Kim beat cancer and you to not do that without the grace of God.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Henry is a crook. He lives off of userous loans made to poor, desparate people. Second he has his wife on the payroll for the county. Third, he has his (supposedly former mistress) on the county payroll through the MyArts Program which he funds through the prosecutors office. If anyone sasy a word about MyArts, his buddies at Local 42 just threaten to shut down the prosecutors office, because for some reason the assistant prosecutors belong to the Fire Fighters Union.

ReplyDeleteShe has said that the Women's Political Caucus should not screen or endorse men. I guess she believes that women cannot compete on an equal playing field with a man, so women must receive special consideration.
If you are like Crystal, and you are willing to discriminate based on gender, then how many steps does it take to before you discriminate based on race, or sexual-orientation or ethnic ancestry?
Crystal Williams is a stealth bigot in my opinion, and we should not elect her to anything, and the county should not pay her indirectly through Swope. All county money should be granted to Swope with the earmark that it cannot be used for lobbying other public affairs related activity. The legislature should pass an ordinance to that end ASAP.
Furthermore, the legislature should "claw-back" from Swope an amount of funds equal to those funds spent on Crystal's lobbying contract.
Dear Crystal, don't let them use you to settle old scores for other people.

Hey Crystal, next time Theresa and company get together to have a rah rah party about how you are going to beat Henry Rizzo, ask them when they are going to fund your campaign like they promised? What is the grand plan? Ask the hard questions that they dance around like when are you going to raise me some money? How am I going to overcome the fact that I don't have any major endorsements? How can I possibly beat an at-large incumbent with less than 20,000 dollars in my campaign account? They won't like that, maybe you should ask Theresa for some of her money?

Sure we have all heard about Henry Rizzo dicking around. Hell, some of us have seen him in dubious company touching private parts etc.( YUCK! My Eyes My Eyes!) But we are not married to that walking STD. He is the owner of a title loan place. Those are creepy places and many argue that they charge fees. Get the state to regulate the industry, then the little bastard will have to go back to kiting checks. That was a Federal Case.
Crystal Williams wasn't thought to be able to stick it this far. I thought she would hang up her black pantsuit when Rizzo starting pushing back on her. I highly suspect that she wants to keep in with the girls over at the Women's Political Caucus. She is trying to not lose face with them, thus she is enjoying her little psychodrama war with Rizzo... sob.... sob... "Oh Crystal, you are holding up so well! I just don't know how you can stand it!"
Crap. I will be voting for Crystal because, believe it or not, she is the better candidate.

The fact that Kim does not live in the county makes it all the more disgusting that Crystal has gone to Kim for political advice in this campaign. Kim runs campagns, and then "runs" the officeholders she helps, for her own personal profit. Take a look at her relationship with Cindy Circo, who pays her as a consultant and then throws tax money at her to "study" transit or promote a 1000 room hotel.

And now it looks like Kim has her eyes on Jackson County's tax dollars, eventhough she thinks she is too good to live in Jackson County. She needs more votes than Theresa Garza has to get at our money, so it is vital for Kim's personal wealth that Crystal Williams gets elected.
I think we all know how Theresa Garza-Ruiz would react Henry or Denny were found to have this kind of secret deal with an institution that the County supports financially. In any of those cases, Theresa would be "tweeting" her chubby fingers off!
