As time goes by, the chances of Al Riederer running for Mayor aren't getting any better. He's told people he's not running . . . And then goes back and says he's still thinking about it.
With less than a year until Kansas City has a new Mayor, a great many people want a final decision. Let's remember that last time around maybe Al could have made a better showing if he wouldn't have waited so long to jump in . . .
But no, very smart TKC TIPSTERS with a great deal of political insight note that . . .
RIEDERER IS STILL PLAYING THE WAITING GAME AND WANTS TO BE BEGGED TO RUN FOR MAYOR BY PEOPLE WITH BIG MONEY!!
I'm not sure this is the best strategy but it sure is annoying a great many Kansas City political insiders.
In this post it's also worth nothing that Former Council Dude Alvin Brooks hasn't completely bowed out and there's just a tiny chance that KCPD Chief Corwin could still want to make his retirement a bit more interesting.
Nevertheless . . . There has always been a contention that Big Al represents the best shot at beating Mayor Funky but, in this race, there are a lot of serious people working to win what is essentially an open seat. Big Al needs to make his decision soon because, in this election, he might not be the most formidable contender.
I'd vote for him. I like his head.
ReplyDeleteThat is all we need---a Mayor who cannot make up his mind.
ReplyDeleteAh, now I know how I can best communicate my desire that he not run -- ignore him.
ReplyDeleteThat is something I can do.
I am ignoring most of the candidates, hope they get the message!
ReplyDeleteThe Funkhouser "positive attack piece" that tied Big Al to Gay Marriage was a stroke of genius last time. Completely unethical, but a stroke of genius.
ReplyDeleteTony, get this most elemental fact straight:
ReplyDeleteThe best Funkhouser can hope for is that he MIGHT make it to a two-person runoff. Then he will be HUMILIATED by the results.
However, we have to qualify this ... if the other person is ALSO an clearly unqualified (Terry, Jonas) or if the other candidate is an EQUALLY OBNOXIOUS ASS (Rowland) the and only then would Funkhouser have a chance of re-election.
There is NO WAY i would vote for Corwin.
ReplyDeleteAl is supporting Jonas Hughes for Mayor
ReplyDeleteWho cares about Al? He jumped in at the last second last time, thinking he was pretty special. Give it up Albert, nobody cares!
ReplyDeleteDidn't Big Al get busted after getting in a slapfight with his ex in front of Missie B's about 8-10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteIs Beth running in 2012?
ReplyDeleteRun, Al, Run!
ReplyDeleteAl Brooks, Al Riederer... what's the difference?
ReplyDeleteBoth of these guys want us to ASK them to PLEASE run. Oh Please run...
This seat has been wide open since last summer. LAST SUMMER. After 26,000 people actually signed the recall petition funk'd's butt was cooked. (I don't give a damn how many were certified, 26,000 signatures was impressive and indicative of our immense desire to remove funk'd from office ASAP)
Not already in this race? You are as slow as funk'd. TOO LATE!
No AL
ReplyDeleteNO AL
Something tells me Big AL's very happy Tony didn't add a newer post so he got all this free publicity with that studio photo at the top of the site all day long!
ReplyDeleteDid Funkhouser really do the attack ad?
ReplyDeleteAl has made WAY too much money from his political connections... no way he's giving that up. But since he suffers from a severe case of Short Man syndrome, not to mention he looks like Wooly Willy (who remembers those?), he just loves to have people ask him to run. He's not running, and has told those who might have supported him that he's not running.
ReplyDeleteAl Brooks... forget it.
Nope, can't have Al in the race. Which one? Don't matter. Both are ineffective. Brooks more so than the other. Brooks seems like a slow child. Glad he got his grill veneered over for the big show 3 years ago. See, even that took him awhile to do. Like I said... slow.
ReplyDeleteA self defeating situation ... anyone who has the capability of being a good mayor is therefore smart enough not to entertain any thought about being mayor. I seems as though the people who are feeding of of the corpus an attempting to get their person to be mayor in order to take the last few pennies off the eyes of the City
ReplyDeleteWhat about Jason Holsman or Jason Kander? One of those guys should run.
