From beginning to end TKC TIPSTERS have kept Kansas City informed over a controversy in Kansas City's Water Department than the mainstream media.
The story of his suspension broke on this blog.
And I think I was able to frame the fight between Old Wayne Cauthen buddies and supporters of Acting City Manager Troy Schulte quite nicely.
NOW THE WORD IS OFFICIAL THAT BERNARDO GARCIA OFFICIALLY RESIGNED!!!
Funny because I was working on a post about how much money he was gonna get from Kansas City. There was talk that the City Council was going to get ready to weigh in full force on the subject. There is talk that he received a settlement of some sort.
But it looks like he didn't get a big payoff and didn't really want to fight because of some personal difficulties beyond the many personnel problems that always plague The Hall . I can't say I blame him as staying in this town has never been a priority for so many in the upper echelon of power in Kansas City.
There might be some second hand reporting of this fact . . . But you heard it here first on TKC. Natch.

ReplyDeleteToo bad. The water department has been the dumping ground for middle management types on their way out the door. Try working around that hot mess! They say the guy was too pushy and (gasp!) Rude! He wanted the losers to do some actual work. Is that too damn much to ask?

ReplyDeleteGarcia was crooked. Water employees worked hard before he got there and will continue to work hard after he is gone- seriously he was only there a year and was so shady!!!!!! He had deep old Denver ties with Cauthen. What did he do in 1 year- nothing. Can't give him EPA project credit, that was in the works long before he arrives. Maybe he will learn to speak without an accent.
