Just heard that Mayor Funky kicked Council Lady Jan off of Finance and Transportation and made HIMSELF Finance Vice-Chair.
SERIOUSLY, THIS IS A LAME DUCK MAYOR GONE MAD!!!
Here's a funny, as Vice-Chair of Finance and Audit . . . He'll be subordinate to his Mayoral Candidate Deb Hermann and hopefully will learn something. Maybe she can teach him to put a solid budget together.
And with only 10 months left in his political career, kicking off Jan just doesn't make any sense . . . Unless Co-Mayor Gloria's feelings are factored into the equation.

Don't get Corwin involved..... he's probably not even in the US.... he's most likely on another boon-doogle trip.

ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't he send School's First to Finance and Audit? Because he knew it wouldn't pass. He thought it would pass in T&I, but Riley couldn't deliver the votes.
Now, he can send his pet folly (I mean, project) to Finance and Audit where he can count on votes from SSB, John Sharp, and himself.
He can also control that committee, while leaving Deb as chair. He can't remove her without looking petty (or, more precisely, more petty than he already appears).
Combine this with Ms. Mayor's hatred of Jan, and it's the perfect and logical plan.
Those who care should send emails in protest to news outlets.

ReplyDeleteHe put himself in the hands of another woman who will just continue the gloria beat down. No way out for him. If his reasoning is to get a friendly committee for his lost Schools First, he made a major blunder.
Deb will have to hold the line on him in committee meetings. She tends to run a pretty tight meeting. She will have to keep him from rambling off the topic. Can she do this and maintain dignity? Good test for us to see how she plans to conduct herself IF she wins the Mayor seat.

This is such an incredibly stupid and politically deranged move, it could only have originated from Gloria.
ReplyDeleteJan has worked on the sewer plan, with good results, for three freaking years! And now, with 10 months to go, he pulls her off? What a moron!
This is the mayor who couldn't even submit his own budget last year. I hope he does learn something from Deb, but I think he is unteachable.
Is anyone else tired of all the whining coming from the some of the council women. Puhhleeze, lets be realistic, anyone can do a better job with the sewer plan than Jan because she is simply a moron who really does look down on the lower class.

The FUNKHOUSER SUICIDE WATCH started on May 18th, the day after Funkhouser's public HUMILIATION WHEN almost no one showed up to his whiz-bang Sprint Center "Schools First Celebration".
It is simply not possible to so completely set yourself up for ABJECT failure in a worse way.
